We can also arrange to teach a weaving class for a fee. To learn more about our farm, you can visit Lanthorn.ca. On the property, there is also a large pottery studio which offers classes that you can book in advance of your visit. To do so, you can visit muraiceramique.com for details. We are home to a deer refuge founded in partnership with the Humane Society Canada which cares for a herd of sika deer rescued from a zoo closure. We also raise a small number of chicken, and sheep.

Learn more about this land: Enjoy our scenic property outside Smiths Falls, where we have one campsite that can accommodate tents or RVs for up to 10 guests. A creek runs through our unspoiled paradise, and you can cross the private bridge to explore the creek banks. Pets are welcome. The Rideau River flows just south of our property, providing outdoor activities and waterfront attractions.
Campfires are allowed on the property. There are no toilets or water. For RVs, the pull-in space can accommodate vehicles up to 42 feet long on a grassy surface. There are no hookups, and generators are not allowed.
In and around Smiths Falls, you can find restaurants and shops, as well as riverfront parks and walking trails that highlight the Rideau River. Gerry’s land is great— multiple private spots to camp at the junction of 2 rivers. The area is rural with farms and a forest preserve. GREAT mountain biking and gravel riding nearby. Don’t forget your mosquito repellent. Gerry is an excellent, helpful, enthusiastic and generous host!

My husband and I camped for the night in our roof top tent. We had such a warm greeting from the hosts and Mary showed us around the property. The property is beautiful. We walked through the woods and up the mountains. The animals were our favourite part of the visit. Overall, it was the perfect 24 hour getaway! And the stars at night were magnificent. It was a clear and cool night. We will be back!
