It is primitive camping, so please bring whatever you need.

Long's Lake Vista ~ Loft, Tent, Van

Pitch your tent on the hilltop plateaus with lake and sunset views (zone 8 or 9). Or your Hammock in Zone 6 under the trees.  

Pit toilet available (zone 7). Power is available along with the use of the common deck and BBQ area in (zones 3 and; 4). Includes Outdoor Hot Shower Stall and Sink. 

Rent the Indoor loft space (zone 2), with 2x double air mattress, power, TV, fridge, dishes, air fryer, kettle, toaster, microwave, and hot plate. 

Power up your Van or RV (zone 1) with outdoor plugs, and park on the newly created flat drive area. 

For the more athletic, hike up to the cleared forest edge in zone 10 or get really rustic in zone 11 hike into the bush for some natural Bush floor camping. 

There is a table fire pit (propane) for you to use and enjoy responsibly; as Muskoka always has a fire ban on in the summer.

There are 27 acres of beautiful Muskoka bush for you to explore and enjoy. If you’re feeling adventurous you can hike around the surrounding forest; stay within the property boundaries and you will discover the hydro cut and its valley view, the ravine, the waterfall, and a footpath that leads to a bridge at the back of the lot. Or simply just relax and enjoy the soundings and view from the sitting rocks.

The public beach for swimming is a quick walk down Beach Road. It has a large dock, picnic tables,  grassy area along with an portapotty. Or check out the sandbar and drop off at the boat launch at the end of the road. The lake has a diverse shoreline and perfect for small boats and kayaks. Enjoy beautiful sunsets overlooking the western end of the lake.

Cedar Creek Forest Camping

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. 

I have 97 acres of very private camping.  The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. 

The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. 

Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. 

My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly),  and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. 

The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.

Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

He's built in so many beautiful nature elements, including this pond which also has a well-groomed path around for walking.

Inside the Yurtle is very cozy, but there's still plenty of room to stand, stretch and look outside.

The fire amongst the woods was so pleasant, Dave provides kindling and wood so you don't need to strip any of the forest floor.

Water is so healing to be near, sitting at this pond is a perfect location for morning coffee or an afternoon meditation.

The Yurtle, while amongst a property with multiple tent and trailer sites, is so tucked away, you'd feel like you're there alone!

The carpeted floor is a nice touch to keep warm inside.

Dave has lots of essentials stocked in the Yurtle so guests can stay comfortably knowing they have options!

Solar and battery operated lights will illuminate the space as the sun sets and the days get shorter.

He's thought of it all! Dave has a big pot and grill for cooking big or small meals at any time of day.

Dave hand built this fantastic structure from his own trees. You can see the care and detail close-up when you visit.

Maple Glen Farms

Welcome to our Hipcamp. We offer a unique camping experience on our 75-acre farm located in the Kawartha Lakes near the village of Woodville.
Be sure to visit the local area, we are within a 15 minute drive of several restaurants, grocery store and the LCBO. The Kirkfield Lift Lock, Fenelon Falls, Balsam Lake Provincial Park and Lindsay are all within a 30 minute drive. There are miles of paved country roads and bike paths to explore the area. Enjoy your evening sitting around a campfire telling stories or listening to the tree frogs. The dark night sky is ideal for star gazing.

Farm fresh produce is available for purchase in season as well as small batch maple syrup from our own trees.

Please Note:

We are in an active farming area so expect the sounds and smells that go along with being in the country. 

Local country road traffic can be heard at times. 

There are no bathroom facilities available.

Dogs are welcome but they must be always on leash as we have a cat, chickens and wildlife that roam the property. We also ask that you clean up after your pet.

Campfires are permitted unless there is a ban in effect. 

We have seasonal insects we recommend you arrive prepared.

There are bee hives on the farm, site #4 is the closest to the hives

LAKE
Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes. 

HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the&nbsp;Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge.&nbsp;It was designed by the federal&nbsp;Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a&nbsp;National Historic Site of Canada&nbsp;in 1988. 

FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including&nbsp;largemouth bass,&nbsp;pike&nbsp;and&nbsp;muskellunge&nbsp;(muskie) and an abundance of&nbsp;panfish.

Sparrow Lake Camp

Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield.&nbsp; The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion.&nbsp; It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort.&nbsp; The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church.&nbsp;Today, the property is a thriving summer camp that also offers overnight tent stays with stunning lake views.&nbsp;

Pitch a tent on our 186 acres of FARM CAMPING and enjoy a gorgeous nearly untouched wilderness experience and bring your fuzzy socks and boots if you want to add in an equestrian experience. Nobody around for miles - LITERALLY! on site if you like to ride and camp all at the same place. Gorgeous and serene ! 

Pricing for trail rides - sleigh rides separate. You can also bring your own horses for horse camping we have a beautiful new facility to accommodate almost any equestrian need. 

Upon arrival you can safely park your car and we can if desired carry your gear and you pack to the camping acreage via our tractor or golf cart or simply walk yourself - it’s not far. Our outhouse is near the main house - we have access to a SOLIS X for an extra fee if you need WIFI. Farm fresh eggs also available to cook over your fire from our 12 new and amazing chickens ! Free of charge ... we will do anything possible to make your stay comfy and relaxed. Please note - firewood is available for an extra fee (we prefer if you don’t bring your own since some can be infected with invasive species and we try to protect the area as much as possibles). Firewood is $6.00 a bag and typically includes starters and kindling) depending on the local supplier we use. 

Coming in the summer - fire pits - bunkies - GLAMPING - and more but for now - come walk / hike our endless trails lined with black berry bushes and wild strawberries along our “secret garden” and enjoy absolute privacy and solitude knowing we are sort of nearby if you need anything at all. We are new at this - just bought this amazing property but we are here to share the experience- WELCOME to our journey - we are at the first step. If you have any questions please ask ! We want to accommodate everyone as best we can :) Need a baby seat or carrier - we can help ... if you forgot your rain coat just text us, we’ll run one out to you and if you want to ride the horses as well .. just let us know your experience level and we will try to accommodate (it may not always be possible so please ask in advance it cannot be done on arrival) . We have very skilled trail guides and coaches on staff and we offer husband horses for those in the know :) We don’t have any set prices for trail rides yet so give us a shout and we’ll work it out but typically we offer lessons at - it’s difficult to price not knowing skill levels and staff required to support your experience so we hope you understand. Mostly we want you to come - unload your baggage and walk into our little slice of heaven ... we call it respite for your soul and we think you’ll think so too.
