We're a family of three residing in St. John's Newfoundland. I am a coastal researcher and hiking guide.
This is a little bit of property we purchased a few years ago that we intend to be building on this coming year. On maps it is 18 Molly's Lane on Google Maps but you will need the pictures below to find it's actual location. The lane is actually Butlers Lane, but also Tobin's in some map apps. It is the last road turning left heading towards the ocean, so not hard to miss.
There is an old road onto the property that guests can park their vans/rv/vehicles. Five minute walk from the water in one direction and town maintained trail into the barrens in another direction. Folks are friendly and of Irish decent. We ask that you not walk around the property as their is come cow parsnip, from July to August. However, the parking area will be kept clear.
No fires and no waste to be left on the property. Dogs on leash permitted, but again beware of the cow parsnip.

This property is only accessible by boat (approximately a one-hour trip).
• Charters: Guests must arrange a boat charter at the time of booking for an additional cost. The host will coordinate this and connect you with the charter service.
• Arrival: Your journey begins at the Bay of Islands Yacht Club in Corner Brook, NL, where you will be picked up and taken to the cabin.
• Pro-Tip: We recommend morning or evening crossings, as afternoon winds can make the bay rough.
The Cabin
The cabin sleeps up to 10–12 guests and includes:
• Full Kitchen & Running Water: Modern essentials in a remote setting.
• Bathroom: Equipped with both hot and cold water.
• Comfort: A wood stove for cozy evenings and an outdoor fire pit with beach access.
Connectivity & Activities
• Internet: There is currently no cell service at the cabin (limited signal is available a short hike away). Starlink is currently being installed; until then, expect a true "disconnect-and-reset" experience.
• Local Adventures: Enjoy the Saltbox Restaurant or book an excursion with Everoutdoor Adventures.

Welcome to our treasured little family camper.
Our “Chaga Cafe” was originally set up by the kids as a little lemonade stand to serve to hikers passing through. As time went on we heard over and over from hikers that there were a lot of needs, “simple accommodations outside of spending a lot of money” was heard a lot.
So here we are. The camper has been set up to help serve a need, a clean place to tuck into for the night, with some necessities, not a luxury accommodation.
This camper is also a family place for us so please take care of it, while it’s simple, it means the world to us.
The camper has power, water for drinking and dish washing is all topped up before your stay. If more is required simply ask via the Hipcamp app and more will be delivered. The propane and running water have been disconnected. A butane hot plate for cooking is provided and lots of water.
The accommodation sits within Food Culture Place property with The East Coast Trail quite literally at your doorstep. Guests can continue on to the next leg of the trail by walking past the accommodation, making this an ideal stop along the route. Heading South from the trail you will make your way to Tinkers Point a 30 min walk along the trail, the next community South is Tors Cove.
This property at large is also my home, the rental is separate and you do not need to walk into the property as the rental is just off the side road.
We ask that you respect this property as a place of peace and quiet. While of course you can come and go at any hour we ask for quiet hours from 10pm- 6am. While you can not see any homes from the camper there are several elderly people in the neighbourhood.
We are located next to a corner store (5min walk for all essentials up on the main road Route 10) and Fork restaurant, one of the best places to eat on the island!
A short drive south is Forager restaurant and Cliffs Edge and excellent stop for a proper espresso coffee and great cafe!
The Camper
Does have electricity, however there is no heat and so we only rent it from June to September. You can charge your devices with the plugs located throughout.
The original fridge and stove in the camper does not work, this is an old camper and we would not trust the propane so the camper no longer has a tank attached.
There is a small fridge for your use and a butane, camping stove there for your use. Butane Included.
Checking in / Checking out
Check in is at 3pm and check out at 11am - this may be able to be changed upon request. Upon arrival, you will find the camper unlocked with a key inside, should you wish to lock it during your stay
Towels/Cloths
Towels, dish cloths, face cloths, mattress cover and pillow covers are replaced after every guest of course. You require your own sleeping bag, there are many extra blankets in the camper. They are all placed in bags so that you know they are clean.
Water
You can rinse dishes with the water near the sink in the container labeled.
There is more fresh water provided outside in the blue container for rinsing the dishes and washing up. There are several large water containers under the table or outside. Dish soap provided.
There is ample fresh water provided for drinking as well, it is clearly labeled and extra refills in the fridge.
Hot water can be boiled with the kettle provided for dishes.
Toilet Use
Please do not place toilet paper or anything else down the toilet—only human waste.
All tissue and other waste should be placed in the wastepaper bucket beside the toilet. There are bags provided under the main sink and when you change the garbage you can place it in the large plastic tub in the driveway
To use the portable camping toilet:
We recommend leaving the toilet trap open while in use to prevent an airlock. This is controlled by a lever in front of the toilet. You can close it when not in use.
When your finished there is a rinse knob, near the back left corner, pull it straight up and then push it straight down and clean water will rinse the basin.
There is a spray bottle that you can use to clean the toilet should it be left in a mess. This is your responsibility to do so before you leave.
Drinking Water
You will find a large drinking water cooler jug with a rechargeable top, the charger is by the small bathroom sink.
Slippers
There are slippers under the table for your comfort. Feel free to place your boots in the box as well

The original propane stove in the camper is not hooked up, there is a butane stove provided for you and a small gas camp stove. If you need help using this please ask and I will come show you or send a video.

We sit on a rock, as does all of Newfoundland, overlooking a creek fed by Bauline Pond, which flows into the rocky beach next to our property. We are sheltered by a rocky hillside, under which we walk to the beach just 30 feet away.
We have views of Bauline Harbour, an active working harbour with two commercial fishing boats, one island/whale tour boat, and many local fishing boats when the fishery is open.
We are at the cultural center of Bauline, a hamlet of fifteen houses, a wharf, a pond, and access to the East Coast Trail. Just beyond Bauline Pond, there is an excellent restaurant, FORAGER, and a hotel, Cliff’s Edge Retreat.
We are at the heart of the Irish Loop, or the Southern Shore, and very conveniently located for travel:
North to St. John’s (50 minutes), south to Trepassey (1:15), west to Dildo (1:15), and east to Ireland (about 5 hours).

Great communication. Comfy RV with just the right space for 3 of us. Everything included that we needed for campfire with hotdogs, kitchen equipment etc. I slept so comfortably I didn’t have time to make coffee in the morning!
