Welcome to a natural, convenient location with basic amenities on the West Kettle River! We have 300 acres including 1500 meters of river frontage with access to the surrounding crown land and KVR trail which runs through the property.
We recommend arriving before dark so that you aren't complaining in a review how hard sites are to find at night, in the dark. Some sites may be overgrown generally a lawn mower is provided for your use. If you are looking for fully serviced campsites where the outhouse is closer than 250m, then you should just carry on!
The KVR trail is the access to the property. From HWY 33 South, take the turn (West) onto Tuzo Main Road (about 7km's south of Beaverdell), then cross the wooden bridge over the Kettle River and take the first left onto the KVR trail (a long, straight flat gravel road) and follow for 1900meters. Mostly wide enough for one way traffic only, so please be patient and mindful of trail users on bikes, quads and vehicles.
After driving down the KVR right of way about 1.2km, you will arrive at the farmhouse gates - there you will see a little sign for the campground on the tree, so keep going down the right away. Once you go another 600m or so, you will come to a homemade sign with an arrow pointing you left. Turn there and then make a quick right turn then follow the road. You will come to the large tree with a picnic table and two blue barrels marking site #10. Sites 1, 2, 3 ,4 are over at the river, the other RV sites 5, 6, 7, 8, can be any where around site 10 or in the loop.
I can always bring the lawner mower over to cut the grass and weeds down just get a hold of me.
We currently have 5 tent only sites on the river and 25 RV/Tent sites currently about 100m from the river. There are currently picnic tables with blue umbrellas for sites 1, 3, 4, 10. There is a small white table and chairs for site 2.
RV's sites include sites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - I can add many more RV sites. Just need to cut the grass/weeds.
Fishing, hiking, exploring, bring your quads, dirt bikes. There's plenty of roads and trails ... Even a secret honey hole fishing spot not far away but that's hush hush only locals know about this gem. A camper told me recently he saw a massive fish (16+ inches), likely a rainbow in the Kettle.

We have one RV spot that sits on about one acre of manicured lawn. We also have a few RV spots on the dyke overlooking the Similkameen River. There are great tenting spots too—whether you’re looking for group camping or a quiet, romantic getaway with beautiful views, we’ve got you covered!
We provide water hookups as well as a 30-amp electrical connection. There’s no sani-dump at the RV site itself, but we do have one available on the property if needed.

Daniel and his father are exceptional hosts, ensuring a wonderful stay. The campsite boasts a stunning mountain-ringed location and offers all the essential amenities, including clean wash basins, a versatile water hose, and a spotless shower room. We arrived late, and his dad kindly assisted us with lighting for our tent setup. The site features ample parking, a powered electrical pole with multiple outlets, and a strong sense of security. It's an ideal, family-friendly spot in Osoyoos that I highly recommend and would gladly visit again.

We absolutely LOVED staying on Kathy’s property.
It’s set back from the road enough that traffic noise is minimal. The bathroom was very clean and has nightlights, making it easy to find in the dark. All of the sites are right beside each other along the riverside of the property. When we arrived, Kathy recommended we move from site 2 to site 7, which was further away from the kids playground and right next to the communal “patio” and also in the shade for most of the day.
She also provides a common area that is great with benches and tables and a barbecue! It was great to have a full cooking space and a shady place to eat in the summer heat.
A lovely collie came to greet us and was super gentle with our senior Dachshund.
We forgot ice on our 2nd night and it was great that Kathy had bags of ice to sell to us for $5/bag!
Nighttime was glorious, very little light pollution and a sky full of stars and shooting stars.
I highly recommend this site, and we will stay here again for sure!!

Our host greeted us upon arrival and allowed a late, last minute check in as we were traveling up to Alaska! They were super accommodating and considerate! We had the whole place to ourselves. Everything was super clean and well kept. They allowed us to run our dogs and let them play in the water which was so nice to try and tucker them out before another long day of driving. Highly recommend this HipCamp!!

Daniel is the kindest uber friendly human being. He made us feel right at home, and made sure we had a great stay. It was the highlight of your trip! The peaches he gave us were the most delicious; meaty, sweet and juicy, and we are still enjoying his cucumbers after a few days, remembering the warm hospitality of the Similkameen valley. The views over the valley were wonderful from our campsite. It was also great to have access to the bathroom for a quick shower in the morning. Thank you Daniel and family! We loved our stay at Fruit Haven farm, and hope to see you again :)

Greatest family campground we've found out there! My daughter has 5 children under the age of 12 and they all loved it! There's a playground and running water with two washrooms.
The host is super friendly and the grounds are impeccable (grass is green literally!).
Five minutes from Headly and Mariposa fruit stand in Keremeos has the best shorbert ever!

We had a good time at Fruit Haven. The owner's family is very lovely, and they show great care in managing their farm + campsite. The equipment is very convenient to use, and there are lots of adorable and artistic decorations around the site for us to experience and explore. The farm animals and fruit trees are beautiful, and we enjoy the view and the quiet time there.

Where to go
Okanagan Lake Provincial Park
With north and south campgrounds a couple of minutes apart from one another on Highway 97, Okanagan Lake Provincial Park offers panoramic views of the lake surrounded by mountain vistas. Explore the pebbly beaches and ponderosa pine forests, partaking in hiking, canoeing, swimming, and windsurfing. Keep those binoculars ready for spotting western meadowlarks, cedar waxwings, and even the vulnerable Lewis’s woodpecker. The north campground features picnic tables, fire rings, and pit toilets across three terraces overlooking the lake, while the south campground is more densely packed at lake level and not suitable for RV camping.
Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park
The large, sandy public beach is the main draw here, including many permanent picnic tables on and near the beach and a playground. The name comes from a shortened version of “Sunny Okanagan.” In the summer, the park operator manages and runs a convenient concession stand, perfect for grabbing an ice-cold treat on a hot day at Okanagan Lake. Trout Creek features an easy out-and-back trail and fishing opportunities. Rainbow trout are the most common catch, but Kokanee salmon, brook trout, and Northern pikeminnow are there. Be sure to get a fishing license first. Gates are locked in the off-season from mid-October to mid-April.
Darke Lake Provincial Park
Drive about 30 minutes north of Summerland to Darke Lake where quiet, primitive campgrounds sit among mature Douglas fir and old-growth cottonwood. While the rustic, undesignated campsites are accessible by vehicle, they are not recommended for large RVs. Visitors must bring their own drinking water, as there is no potable water in the park. Trout fishing is allowed, including ice fishing in the winter, and the park is also open to hunting.
When to go
Summer is understandably the peak tourist season for camping near Summerland. Outdoor activities by Okanagan Lake draw large crowds, so reserving a campsite well in advance is a good idea. Summer also sees several festivals and events in the area, including music festivals. For cooler weather and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn deliver colorful scenery in the form of cherry blossoms and fall foliage, respectively. Fall harvest festivals are fun for the whole family, as well. Hipcampers willing to brave cold and snowy weather may enjoy snowshoeing and ice fishing in winter.
