Located in a peaceful setting close to Mundare (10 minutes), Vegreville (15 minutes), and Edmonton (45 minutes) we invite you to bring your whole family to enjoy our farm camping getaway. We have 4 sites that can accommodate up to 7 people each. The sites are in the open but have some protection and privacy provided by the trees. We have a fire pit, wood supplies, and a picnic table so you can enjoy your evenings by the campfire. During your stay, you are invited to walk around the property to see our farm animals like goats, sheep, and chickens. At Hillwinds House, it’s all about taking a moment to disconnect from your busy life and reconnect with nature. Build a fire, read a book, brew some coffee, sweat in the sauna, prepare a nourishing meal, and watch the sun set over the valley in the west. We are excited to share our Alberta landscape with its beautiful sky, empty fields, and close up nature details. Hillwinds House is a cozy Nordic-inspired cabin located on the edge of the Meeting Creek valley. The cabin is nestled in the trees on a 5 acre piece of land. The cabin is completely off-grid with a wood burning stove inside to keep it warm. The kitchenette has everything you need to prepare meals: a gas stovetop, sink with gravity water faucet, and a YETI cooler stocked with ice packs to keep your food cool. To access the king sized bed in the loft, a sturdy ladder must be climbed (see photo). Loft and ladder are “use at your own risk.” A wood burning sauna is located just steps from the main house. Walk out on the wrap-around deck and light the fire in the sauna to get your sweat on. During the winter months, a snow bath is recommended for refreshment. (it feels so good!) We also have a handheld shower to rinse off with after the sauna. A wood-burning hot tub bathing area is available for bookings from May to October, and no hot tub is available in the winter months when it is too cold to change the water for each guest. There is a dry flush toilet inside the cabin (in its own bathroom) so there’s no need to freeze your butt off in an outhouse. Sanitary wipes and hands sanitizer are conveniently located in the bathroom with the wash basin in the nearby kitchen. As a guest at Hillwinds House, you will have full access to the entire 5 acre property. Enjoy the spacious deck with valley views, sit in the sauna at dusk and watch the wildlife walk by. (deer, white rabbits, moose, and coyotes) Put on your snow boots or skis and enjoy the trail that winds down the side of the hill towards the Meeting Creek townsite. When you book a stay at the cabin, we’ll send you a welcome booklet with a list of our favourite places to go and things to do locally. We’ll be a few miles away on our farm if you need anything during your stay at Hillwinds House.

Weekend Trip to Danny’s Croft - 80 Acre Woods

Beautiful place, cute goats and welcoming owners. We were notified that the place was not ready for us yet, as we booked a place a bit too late. Making the host ( Rachel and her husband) worried that it will not be up to our standard. Matter of fact, it was beyond our expectations regardless. They provided us with a nice grill, water and a clean table, they even wanted to give us some fresh eggs! Hope to come visit soon again, as we were not able to thank you in person. Thank you very much!

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin! The place is amazing, quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Guillermo, their lovely dog, was a highlight of the trip. He gave us a little “tour” of the property and played happily with our dog, who was thrilled to run off-leash. Kerry is a fantastic host, always quick to answer our questions and make us feel welcome. We truly enjoyed our time here and are already planning our next visit this winter.

My partner and I absolutely loved the cabin. Beautiful details, comfortable bed, nice touches and everything you need to set up a little camp kitchen on the porch. The property is beautiful, the cabin is surrounded by trees. The little outhouse is very cute and does not smell like an outhouse because of the composting toilet. It even has a bag shower. I wish we could have stayed longer, I hope we'll be back!

This is the second time I've visited. Camped last year and stayed in the cabin this year. Absolutely love this space. Very quiet and peaceful. Spent most of our time outdoors, hoping it would rain so we could listen to it hit the metal roof, no such luck. Cabin is well stocked and the hosts are very accommodating. Will definitely be back!

This was our second time staying here in the cabin and it was great. We were worried about privacy with having someone booked the tenting site but we barely knew they were there. The brush really filled in compared to our stay back in May. The hosts were just as nice, friendly and responsive as our first stay. Love that our dogs get along and I didn’t have to worry about mine. She had a blast running around and playing.

We had a nice time at the Rustic Cabin. It was a quick 45 minute drive from our house and the directions were perfect. Eugena was easy to communicate with and the property was beautifully kept. We enjoyed the quiet afternoon, and the temperature dropped overnight so we could have a great sleep. The only problem was that the train whistle woke me up a few times, but other than that, it was a great place to visit. We will visit again!

Such a beautiful and peaceful experience. We just got away for one evening but the second we arrived we were able to turn off and chill. The communication was fantastic and kept us up to date with any little issues that had occured. Beautiful cabin and property. Right on a farmland. If you like that isolated feeling, this is perfect. Many greenery around. We went for a walk and enjoyed the privacy. We even got to see her cows. Close to town to grab stuff and even to use the washroom at the grocery store. Things to note, there’s no electricity, no wifi. It rained during our stay and the cabin was so cold, only source of heat is by lightening a fire through the wood stove.

Eugena was so welcoming and accommodating!! She has a warm smile and makes sure you are comfortable. I loved the cabin and outdoor areas. The solar lights on the property made it a little more magical at night!! It is close enough to a little town where you could run and grab what you need, but it also feels like it is in the middle of nowhere!! It is so quiet and peaceful!! This little get away was exactly what I needed to recharge. When I left my heart was happy and my mind was clear. I will definitely be back for another stay!!

Finding the cabin was super easy with the directions given, and not too far from the city! The cabin was peaceful, tucked into the trees and well-kept. All the basic camping supplies are there for cooking, and there is a cozy fire pit that is tucked behind the house - it felt very private. Our dogs were thrilled to be there off leash too! We’d definitely go again for another short time away from the city and would recommend to others!
