Gidgee’s Bush Camp is just on the edge of Morven SW Queensland, 100 km East of Charleville. We are just over 1 km from the Morven post office. Check in 12 noon
We operate a small sheep, cattle and goat property along with a camping, coffee and pvc bag manufacturing business. Mick also manages the Morven Rail hub which is a cattle spelling, weighing and trucking terminal.
The landscaped campground is set in 60 acres, of open downs country. We are focused on attracting bird life an have identified 90 species.
You can stay hooked up on the majority of the sites and they are pull through or reverse parking depending on here you choose to camp.
The hub of the campground is WILMAVALE hut, which is complete with a byo bar, entertainment lawn, fire pits and events pavilion. You can watch footy on a Friday night or sit around the wood stove and enjoy the atmosphere of the hut which has been replicated from a house build and lived in by Kylee’s grandparents that was originally built in 1860. There are toilets and showers. Showers require $1 coins for hot water. We also have a coin operated washing machine.
We have hot tubs that can be booked and on arrival at an additional cost.

You can also consider booking one of our 12 powered sites, or up to 20 powered if booked as a group.
We have room for 50 unpowered sites.
There are fire pits scattered around the camp for campers to use. We do not supply fire wood, but you can collect it. We lite on of the fires at WILMAVALE hut. Camp kitchen has power, Bar-b-que, Wood stove, hot plate and microwave, including a beautiful, manicured lawn area, and drinking water.
You will also be pleasantly surprised by the quirky landscaping and art work that surrounds the campgrounds. Being a working farm your well behaved cats and dogs are welcome but must be restrained at all times.
We have bitumen road to our front door and It is accessible to motorbikes, RVs, camper trailers, caravans, cars, trucks and buses. Interact with the farm animals and the camp owners. The bush camp is owned and operated business 4th generation Morven farmers. Enjoy beautiful wide open spaces, with tranquil sunsets followed by huge outback night star lit sky.

Our property is located in Mungallala, a small country town 1.5 hours west from Roma. This site is the perfect place in Mungallala to camp in peace and quiet off the main highway and walking distance from the local wildlife refuge.
Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet and shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Contained campfires are allowed outside of restrictions. Pets are also welcome but must be kept under guests control at all time.

What a beautiful little oasis in the outback. A really lovely spot with super friendly hosts. Waking up to the epic birdlife and my morning coffee on the edge of the dam with a heap of birds I’ve never seen before a real treat! Kylee is super knowledgeable about the local birds and working hard to create a haven for them. Highly, highly recommend!

It is the off season out here, but Kylee still went out of her way to greet us and show us around camp. The camp kitchen was a great spot to set up and eat meals and the grassed areas were welcome after spending the past week out in the red dirt. Thanks for having us!

We camped with the Campertrailer on an unpowered, no water site. Plenty of room for the two kids under 5 to ride bikes and run around. The kids loved feeding the animals (bottle fed calves, collected eggs and saw baby turkeys). The liked exploring the different metal sculptures around the property and finding the hammocks. Plenty of fire pits and wood around to have a fire.

Beautiful camp site with plenty of space around to pick a nice spot and stay overnight. There were a large amount of prickles and bindis about, so if you have a doggo be mindful of this. Also, I probably missed this somewhere, but the showers require $1 coins to operate hot water so just plan ahead or ask for assistance at reception :)

A real gem! Such a lovely campground with powered and unpowered sites. The hosts have made this so special: with art work around the ground, a big fire place where the guests gather around, a bar, pizza oven and great amenities.
We would definitely recommend Gidgee’s!

This is a great place to stay. Enjoyed the chat (and homemade cheesy pizza) around the campfire with fellow campers and Kylee. Kylee is very known about the district and has lots of stories about the difficulties country have to deal with and still have a positive attitude. Kylee is very community driven and is very inspirational. The art sculptures (and there are lots) around the camp are impressive. The facilities are very good and clean. We loved the camp. Highly recommended.

One of our favourite places. We loved the space and peace of being out on a farm. The rustic community areas are charming and with the fire roaring and the cold made for a great night for in house pizzas. Kylee lit a fire in the fire pit and we sat around with fellow travellers sharing experiences. Kylee is multi talented with her various garden installation. If you are after something different yet personal don’t miss Gidgees Bush Camp and Farm stay. Brilliant! thanks Kylee.

I booked Gidgee’s last minute and didn’t have any expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. Hipcamp didn’t show any powered sights available, so I booked unpowered, but I was able to switch to a powered site on arrival at no extra charge. I’d recommend booking with them directly if you can.
Hosts Pam and Tony were lovely and very welcoming — Tony made wood-fired pizza for dinner (at a cost) and we took home a jar of Pam’s freshly made lemon butter! Our 4yo daughter was delighted to help Kylee (the owner) bottle feed their eight new calves, and see the chickens, ducks, turkeys and Guinea fowl.
We only stayed one night, but it was a memorable stop. It looked like there was more to see and do on the farm and around Morven than we had time for.

A hidden little gem, great facilities, loved all the quirky artwork, huts with character, kids had a great time fishing and riding their bikes around. Peaceful & quiet. Be sure to stop here.
