The site was very similar to photographed and described which we were pleased with. No toilets on site - public toilets 150 m walk away which was disappointing as this was not noted in the listing. We booked for 3 nights and ended up leaving after the first night and finding a free camp instead as we felt quite unwelcome at our stay. We were not allowed to use the bins on site for our waste which was minimal and directed to the street bins up the road which were overflowing with waste. Convenient spot but would not stay again.

Quite pricey for what you get, the cafe/art gallery is very cute tho.
The pros :
Cafe nearby
Art gallery is lovely and some board games in the cafe
Church is next door if you’re into that
The cons :
Public Toilets 200meters away and when we were there was very smelly and dirty
Downhill so hard to find a nice place to set the tent
By the road, so a bit load and not very private
You share the small expensive place with someone else
We were very happy to find this place as it was one of our only option by the great ocean road though

The site offers no power, water, or toilets and the entire camping area is on a hill side with no level patches for tents.
There are plenty of places near by to set up camp for free instead of paying for this place. Could easily pitch a tent many places on the town for the same experience and less money

Lovely people, beautiful little cafe gallery at the property. Ebikes and hikes across the road. Waterfalls and beech trees a short drive. Felt safe.

The description didn't match what we found. The toilets are a couple meters away of the property and are the public toilets of town - eventhough they had a bathroom in the Cafe we weren't allowed to use it. The bathroom was disgusting (flooded with human residue, it was supposed to getting fixed when we left) and the space provided to park was flooded and our camper van got stuck in the lawn. The owner didn't mind when we got stuck and the neighbours staying there had to help us (thank god).
Nevertheless, Francis was nice enough to help out with a refund for the experience we had, we left after the first night out of 3 that we had planned. Other fellow travellers did enjoy it, but my partner and I didn't. Good option if you are in a budget or if the place is convinient for your travels. Would not recommend if you are looking for a friendly, beautiful and peaceful spot.

Ok to stay for a night... Couldn’t find a good even spot as the site slopes away. It was a foggy and misty night - the van almost got stuck as the grass was very wet and slippery.
Messaged the owner on arrival, but didn’t receive a reply. Couldn’t find the toilet - potentially in the shop which was closed by the time we arrived - however there was a sign to use the public toilet. Short walk so it’s ok, but expected a toilet on site…

It was a nice small camp site (3 camping spots) very close to the redwood forest. It was fine for one nights stay, but the owner was uncontactable and didn’t reply to any of my messages before or during the trip.

Sheltered paddock with views down to the trees. Off the road, handy for the toilets. Small but room for a few tents. Slopes away so pick your spot depending on size of tent.

Ridgetop Campsite at St Anselms
We enjoyed our stay here - we camped over Easter and it rained a lot and the grass was quite slippery and we nearly got bogged - something to keep in mind if you have a 2WD. Being next to the community church was lovely and was a short walk to public toilet and the local pub. Would recommend if you're looking for somewhere to stay close to Beech Forest and the waterfalls!

This Hipcamp was exactly what we needed! While there is a slight slope, the area is peaceful and we enjoyed getting a warm drink at the cafe in the morning. Also good that there's a bathroom nearby. Thank you!

Good location, peaceful and quiet. However, no tap (although the listing says water is available) and toilets are the public toilets about 150m up the road… not ideal for the middle of the night.

Ridgetop Campsite at St Anselms
When you arrive at the art cafe and small church, Francis and Sarah are very welcoming. They have three camp spots next to/behind the church. We went and had a coffee after setting up and admired the incredible pieces of art in the cafe which we later found out were all done by Francis and Sarah. We stayed just behind the church and it felt secluded and private facing the paddock. There was also a fire pit provided. We had dinner up at the local pub a few minutes walk up the road. This was a very cute place to camp and we enjoyed ourselves!

Beautiful spot. Amenities nearby such as public toilet block. Had a great dinner at the pub.
The owners have a very cute cafe and are really lovely. Definitely recommend and will stay again.

We had a great time - thank you.
The site is on a slight slope but was manageable. So nice having the cafe right there for icey poles and coffee/cake in the afternoons. Susan and Francis are super lovely and have great tips about the area. We will be back;)
