Big Gums is a brilliant spot. It’s nice and close to Victor Harbour so we could visit all the attractions without adding the big caravan park fees. The camp area is a paddock with big gums for shade. Absolutely perfect for what we were after. Thanks you!

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
There was prompt and wonderful communication with James. The property is close to Victor Harbor and Waitpinga Beach, and has an abundance of fire wood for the fire season (approx April-November). The porta-loo was considerably better than my expections, it was clean, plenty of water and toilet paper and the view with door open was beautiful :)
Very detailed and easy directions to the camping area were provided prior to arrival. Telstra phone coverage is intermittent.
Definitely loved our peaceful stay.

Beautifully natural and spacious area with lots of native trees and birds. Unfortunately to hot for a fire but easily 10° cooler than Adelaide. Big area for a handful of campers and minimal ambient light if you like to stargaze. Will return when it is a bit greener.

This was a fantastic camp ground. Area was well maintained and had plenty of room to fan out as you wished without disturbing others. The camp portaloo was one of the most well kept I've seen. Only thing of note is there is no site bin, this is no trouble however, just something to keep in mind. Would highly recommend this spot for camping around Victor and surrounds.

We loved camping among the gums trees and listening to the bird calls at dawn and dusk. Close enough to Waitpinga beach and Victor but far enough away for silence and solitude.

The site is stunning. Clear instructions on how to find the property. Lots of spaces to choose from, and nice level sections for a tent. Thank you for sharing your part of the gorgeous landscape with us! Would definitely stay again.

Oh we loooved our stay at Big Gums, it was our favourite stop out of all 9 places we visited across South Australia! It was peaceful, a beautiful rural piece of land where sheep roamed and Gum trees protected us from the heat. The campsite was huuuuge, you have complete choice over where to set up, and if others come (which they did)...you still have masses of space between you so it's like you're still in your own slice of heaven (the others were so far away we literally couldn't hear them at all). There is a portaloo there, like the type from a construction site, which is handy but as we were self contained we didn't need to use it.
The best bit for us, aside from whats mentioned above, is that it was just 10 minutes from Victor harbour, so we got the peaceful bush setting but also the beautiful ocean and loads to see and do really close by.
If we ever head this way again, we would 100% stop by at this site.

Loved the serentity and space, we felt like the only ones there. The sheep grazing was a highlight as well as the well kept amentities nice and clean. Extremely peaceful and highly reccomended. We will be back.

Site was well kept and facilities were very well maintained. With a number of sites each being accessible and flat.
Would definitely recommend it. Especially being only a short drive from victor.

We really enjoyed our peaceful stay at Amberfeld Big Gum Camp. There were a few other campers staying there, but the area is so big that we all had our privacy. Would definitely stay again.

We loved camping at this spot! Located only 10 minutes from Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay it made it the perfect spot for a quick getaway. Ample space to choose from and top quality amenities. We picked a spot near the dam and were greeted by groups of sheep, cows and kangaroos popping through for a quick drink.

We enjoyed our stay! Plenty of space and we felt very safe even with a big storm coming through. Directions were easy to follow and the camp space was flat and peaceful among the trees.

Before booking, the campfire was allowed and we were so excited but after booking confirmation we got instructions that campfire is not allowed, and it was non refundable so we decided not to camp there and chose another park.

Easy to follow directions to a nice large camp area. James had fire wood and fire pit barrels ready at the sites.

Quiet peaceful and very private with only a few sites spread over a large area. Situated in a meadow with outlook to lots of Eucalyptus trees (species Eucalyptus Leucoxylon). Occasional kangaroos pass by. Great place to read and relax.

Instructions were very clear. Had no trouble finding the place. We had the place to ourselves, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Lovely out look. It was too windy for a fire, however there was plenty of firewood. Great place to get away from it all. Saw some wild life: lots of bird life and some kangaroos.
