Kate and Gavin were extremely friendly and welcoming. Absolutely beautiful location, we will be back for sure. And the fresh eggs from the chickens were a bonus.

Field in the Forest
Great setup, beautiful surroundings and Mt Hypipamee right around the corner. We had plenty of space to work with and the hosts were very friendly while still leaving us to do our thing. I recommend this site to any school, uni or enviro groups that want to see high altitude critters of the Wet Tropics.

What an amazing place. Field in the Forest is a beautiful and serene location close to all the major things to do in the Hinterlands of FNQ.
The hosts were great and it was so lovely to spend some time with them both and hear their future plans.
I stayed one night and immediately booked a further 4 nights.
You must try this one out.

Our little family loved staying here. We had the whole field to ourself. Gavin met us upon arrival and was very hospitable. The facilities were immaculate and there was complimentary wood for the fire pit. Our son loved the chickens which made themselves part of the family!

Field in the Forest is a tranquil and delightful spot. Space enough to have several campers yet retain privacy. Plenty of room for energetic children to play. Great fire pit with wood supplied and clean and efficient composting toilet. A perfect base for exploring the region or spot to take a peaceful break for as long as you choose. Kate and Gavin are warm and gracious hosts with big plans to expand their vistor experience. Always respond promptly. They ensure all is well in passing but the camp site is separate and secluded from the residence. Kate was a great saviour in kindly tracking down a lost wallet for us in nearby Herberton. The resident flock of odds and sods chooks are very companionable and quite charming. Absolutely recommend .

A wonderful place to rest after the Atherton Tablelands Waterfall circuit. Easily found, beautifully set on a large field in the forrest. Rare birds and chucks welcomed us, the hosts were super nice and did a great job preparing campfire spot & toilet facilities. Would recommend 100%

Amazing stay, extend for few days as we invited our friends to stay with us on this beautiful property. Kate and Gavin are amazing and so helpful :)
Chooks gave us fresh eggs in the morning.
All and all we will come back , peaceful , beautiful :)

Well this place was unreal, there’s so much to do in the area. Waterfalls, amazing craters, a must see, tree kangaroos, yes they are a teal thing. A massive fig tree must be seen to be believed.
On the property itself is a massive big luscious green paddock with a communal fire pit and firewood is available, free range chickens and eggs if you want, one of the chooks is called Kiev and is very friendly. Plenty of wildlife, gliders native to the area, murder birds. The toilet is the best I’ve seen and the hosts Kate and Gavin were exceptionally accommodating, we were only there for 2 days but wished we were there for a week. The pubs in the area are also a must see, old heritage ones and the beers good too. Make sure if your looking for somewhere to stay you pick this one 100/100 thanks guys we will be back

Lots of space at this lovely camp spot. No problems finding it with supplied directions. Kate and Gav checked in and made sure we had everything we needed. Nice facilities and communal campfire was great with plenty of firewood. Thanks for a relaxing weekend!

Amazing hosts with an amazing location. Heaps of room for everyone even when full. The chickens are super friendly, Keiv may even pop in for a visit😂. A really good location to visit the local waterfalls and lakes.

Stunning spot. Big cleared field. Lovely hosts who left the gate open for us to just drive in and came and met us. Trickling creek made a lovely sound but hard to get to, a fantastic fire pit with logs around and wood chopped for us. Chicken wander around that area near the toilet so if you want a sleep in go further away but our kids loved them. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay near Herberton and only 12 min easy drive in

Five Star +! Kate & Gavin great hosts. We were fortunate to share their piece of paradise for 3 peaceful nights. Lots of room for children to run around, great communal fire pit, plenty of wood supplied, very clean, odourless, compostable toilet. Clean rainwater tank. Very peaceful with sound of creek flowing nearby. Convenient location to explore Herberton and Hypipamee NP with crater and beautiful Dinner Falls. Thank you both for sharing your amazing property, will definitely return.
