The Basin – Waterfront Camping Overlooking Pittwater The Basin is a waterfront campground overlooking Pittwater and is one of Sydney's hidden beach camping gems. You can reach this beautiful destination by hiking, ferry, private boat, or water taxi. The Basin is the only campground within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. This spacious, grassy camping area offers beautiful surroundings and stunning views across Pittwater. It's easy to see why this waterfront campground is so popular. The Basin features excellent facilities, a designated picnic area, a sheltered beach, and a peaceful inland lagoon. The campground can accommodate up to 350 campers. Accessible only by boat or on foot, The Basin offers a unique camping experience. With The Glamping Nomad, your getaway becomes even more convenient. Leave the heavy camping gear at home and enjoy sleeping under the stars with all the essentials taken care of. Just pack your clothes, food, and sense of adventure — we'll take care of the camping! Getting There: There is no vehicle access to The Basin campground. You can park along West Head Road, but be prepared for a steep 2.8 km walk to the campground. If you'd prefer to skip the hike, you can arrive by water taxi, private boat, or ferry departing from Palm Beach Wharf. The Basin, a waterfront campground overlooking Pittwater is one of Sydney's most secret beach camping spots. NO VEHICLE ALLOWED Arrive by hike, ferry, boat or water taxi. At The Basin, you’ll find great facilities along with a picnic area, sheltered beach and an inland lagoon. The campground accommodates up to 350 campers. IMPORTANT Glamping tent hire fees do not include National Parks camping fees. Camping fees must be booked first and paid for separately through The Basin Campground NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) website The basic Glamping tent includes: Foam mattresses with a mattress cover, A rug, a bedside table and an LED lantern. Please note: bedding is not included, BYO blankets, sleeping bags, pillows. Price for 2 nights/tent for 2 people is $380 (minimum booking of 2 nights) Additional nights after the first 2 nights are $80/night per tent + Add single mattress - $30/ night (up to 5 people maximum per tent) Please note: Children under 2yrs are free (BYO cot)
