This was our second time here and we loved every minute. We had 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs, and we all had our own space and it didn’t feel cramped at all. The firepit was perfect, the eggs from the hosts were delicious. We even got a super clear view of the falcon launch while we were there. 10/10 would stay again.

This site is so awesome! The hosts are really kind and communicative, and have done such a nice job laying out the four sites they have. Far enough away that you can't see and barely hear each other, close enough to give that sense of safety and community in the night. Clean, easy and charming outhouse, nice fire pit with cooking grate, picnic table, trash can. and fire tools. Everything you need and nothing you don't. They also have kept the land so natural and beautiful, with mature juniper all around.
The location is insanely beautiful, big clear sky, gorgeous mountains, an hour from Ojai over a beautiful mountain pass.
Honestly you don't usually get this quality of campsite on private lands. Love it! This was our second time here and we'll definitely be back.

Campsite Two at My Way Camp was absolutely incredible. The solitude here is unmatched — no road noise, no crowds, just pure peace and quiet. At night, the sky comes alive. The star views are some of the best I’ve ever seen — crystal clear and absolutely breathtaking.
The campsite itself is thoughtfully set up and functional. The fire pit was perfect — well-built and ideal for cooking or just enjoying an evening fire. Everything felt clean, organized, and intentional. It’s rare to find a spot that feels this remote and peaceful, yet is still easy to access and well-maintained.
If you’re looking to unplug, reconnect with nature, and sleep under a galaxy of stars, this is the place. We’ll absolutely be back.

This was our second visit and it was even more amazing than the first. Definitely bring some form of shade and plenty of water — it gets hot but the shade is pleasant and the mornings/evenings are chilly but refreshing. We missed our wine this time, but still 5/5 visit. We highly recommend.

It was a lovely night under the stars. Very comfortable for this newbie camper. Serene, quiet, with a coyote serenade. Felt like we were the only ones in the world. Gracious and responsive hosts. Highly recommend!

Quick one night trip, but so worth it! Space was clean and just as described. Felt private with plenty of space for the dogs to roam around. We didn’t have cell service at the site, which allowed us to just relax by the campfire with good company. Stars were beautiful! Will definitely come back for two nights next time.

Great quiet spot with mountain views at the end of a scenic drive. Pack your own water. No firewood on site so bring your own but fire ring and fire starting equipment comes with the pitch. Neighbors are 50ft away but site feels very wild and private.

This camp location was stunning and dreamy. We loved the built in firepits and grates-were able to cook easily. The trash can and rustic bathroom were also a plus. There were a lot of coyotes one night, which was loud but otherwise non-threatening. Campsite 4 seemed to have the best panoramic views. The stars were amazing and the campsite felt private/remote. Would recommend checking out the buckhorn for food/an air conditioned bar! There is little shade coverage and it can get hot. No one greeted us or gave us free wine, so maybe the hosts no longer do that. Overall if you’re looking for a desert experience, I would recommend this spot.

This is a really cool campsite. Visually, you’re alone and feel alone. The site has a great set up and can take the view in at all times. The night time view is mind blowing. Will be back.

We had campsite 2 with a group of 8 people and 2 cars and there was plenty of room for our 4 tents and our tables and all of our gear. We spent two nights there over Memorial Day weekend and had a blast Amazing views, the stars were amazing. We went hiking in Pinemountian Club and there were to many near by (10-45 minutes away) spots to hike at.
The only confusion we had was trash drop off, where to put it! We had one car bring trash a head of us and found out they put it into the dumpster on the property (which I think was not permitted and we felt so bad hearing they did that!) but the majority of our trash went to the convenience store 2 miles north up the road.

This was my second stay at My Way, which is one of four Hipcamp sites in the area over a span of a few years that I've visited. As anticipated, it was a scenic, quiet, peaceful and most perfect refuge for a quick overnight stay. I love the Cuyama Valley/Badlands area. One caution to dog owners and socks-and-sandals wearers, be mindful of the abundant foxtails resulting from this years wet winter. Also, many coyotes about.

We were looking for a last-minute camping spot where we would have clear skies to watch the Perseid metor shower. My Way Camp fit the bill perfectly! It was in a lovely, mostly secluded location (2 other groups were nearby - close enough that we could hear and see them in the distance, but not close enough to infringe on our privacy or the peacefulness of the spot). There was a fire pit and picnic bench and they thoughtfully provided a bottle of wine, along with a wine opener and glasses (jars). They even came around and offered some firewood. There was a "rustic loo" and trash can, which was all we needed for amenities. The skies were clear and we had a beautiful night of stargazing.

Yes, these campsites are off grid but it is a peaceful place. This time of year the grounds are carpeted in yellow wildflowers. Bring your own water for washing and drinking. Camp host is very responsive. This campsite is a great place to end your day after visiting the Carrizo plain.

Had another relaxing and amazing time camping on Chris' land - she and her husband (and dogs!) are just so wonderful, we loved catching up with them before starting our camping adventure. Rain or shine, the land, the camp spots, the hosts, and just everything about the place is indescribable - you just have to go and experience it yourself. Spending time out in the peaceful desert was the perfect way to close out 2022 and start the new year.

We loved this property! The campsites are spread out so it feels very private. The view is so pretty right from the campsite. Chris provides some really nice and useful amenities. She brought us wine and eggs to welcome us. At the site they had a outhouse just for our campsite (one is at each site) so you don't have to share with other campers. There were other cute little amenities as well. The ground is nicely groomed and was great for our dogs and kitten to enjoy. No paws were injured! We enjoyed hiking in the BLM land behind her property and didn't see anyone out there. We will be back for sure!

We had a fantastic stay on Chris’s land! Beautiful view. Definitely bring a shade cover if you’re staying in the summer months. However the breeze feels great and it cools off in the evening to the perfect temperature! We’re looking forward to coming back soon!

Chris is such a wonderful host. The sites are thoughtfully laid out so you have space and privacy to enjoy nature. Our pup Lincoln’ had a wonderful time too. Oh, and the farm fresh eggs she provides make for a killer breakfast. Great getaway from from LA for a weekend!

My fiance, two dogs, and I had a ton of fun during our stay. The site was clean and had everything we needed between the fire pit with supplied firewood, the table for our food and supplies, cook shelf for our kitchen items, and toilet area. We thorougly enjoyed the wine that was supplied on arrival! Thank you again for making us feel welcome and cared for.
The area itself was huge and had plenty for us and the dogs to explore. It definitely helped that we had the whole place to ourselves but even if there were other guests staying with us, we would have more than enough room for all of us to explore and play without leaking in to the neighboring sites.
We recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing experience away from the loud and busy streets of the city.

Can’t say enough great things about spending a weekend here. Chris was a wonderful host and her wine and fresh eggs were an added treat. The campsite was immaculate with amazing views and plenty of secluded space! Sadly we missed the wild flowers but can’t wait to return next year. A drive through the Carizzo Plain is a must! A place we will be returning to many times in the future. Thank you Chris for your amazing hospitality!

We really enjoyed spending time on Chris’s property. It was very clean and she brought us fresh eggs and a bottle of wine. We ordered the firewood and definitely had enough for the two days we were there. There is a nice dried river we hiked in and explored. Make sure to bring a pop up tent, the sun can be pretty strong. She provided a little restroom, nice picnic table, fire ring and great scenery. We highly recommend this place and will be back, thank you Chris for your hospitality!

We loved the friendly attention. Awesome quiet location.
There were other campers there but we couldn’t see them.
Chris provided basic amenities plus wine and fresh eggs. She had great recommendations for local restaurants and stores.
