Spacious, level camping well-suited for travel trailers over 40 ft long.
1.5 acre plot located west of Port Townsend near Cape George and Discovery Trail. This forest meadow is a peaceful, private spot to rest and relax when you are not having adventures on the Olympic Peninsula. Perfect for RVs, Camper Trailers, Vans, or tents of all types. The entire property is listed as a single camp site, so there is maximum privacy and solitude compared to a multi-site venue like Ft Worden State Park. Green Acre Camp is located in a semi-residential, semi-rural area of unincorporated Port Townsend, only 10-15 min drive to main restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions of downtown Port Townsend. Plenty of flat space for tent camping, running well water, and RV power pedestal with 30a, 50a, and standard 20a/120v plugs. Pack-in, Pack-out; there is no toilet, sink, or shower. Enter the property on private dirt road connected to Hastings Ave and you may park anywhere in the upper field immediately on left when you enter the driveway. There is a locked shed that houses the well pump, and you can use the water spigot and hose. Water is potable but recommend using a filter for any drinking water in case there is sediment from the well. RV power pedestal is just past the shed and there is space for vehicle parking or tent setup near the electricity. Property is shaped like a right triangle with Hastings Ave , a local 2-lane loop road that is 40mph, as the hypotenuse. There is tree cover along Hastings and shared driveway at bottom edge of the triangle. As you continue down the driveway a few hundred yards, you approach neighbor's fence and property line. This corner makes the right angle of the triangle and the property line runs straight left until it connects back to Hastings Ave. Main camp site is the “upper field” where there is room for parking and the power/water connections. This is conveniently level with the main road and power/water connections are about 50 yards from Hastings and the driveway in the southwest corner. There is “lower field” that is a trimmed grass field right corner next to the dirt road on the southeast corner of the land. Finally there is the “back field” where there is large, grass field and a fire ring across the northern half of the property. The back field has an unused septic system underground, so we leave the grass and vegetation longer here to attract wildlife and preserve the infrastructure for potential future use. No vehicles allowed in back field. In the middle of the property is a grove of pine and cedar trees with thick, native salal bushes and rhododendrons crisscrossed with paths created by humans and the local deer population. Driveway is shared by neighboring property so wave and smile if our neighbors walk or drive out to the main road, and please be respectful of their property line and follow the local culture of 'live and let live'.1.5 acre forest meadow with power connections, running water, and plenty of space for your tent, trailer, or RV. 50a, 30a, and 20a (120v) electricity connections on power pedestal. Upper field with ample parking, lower field with thick grass and salal, back field with flat field the size of a football field. Central tree grove provides privacy and shade with footpath through the middle. Close to all the attractions of Port Townsend. Minutes to wineries, golf, state parks, Cape George, or beautiful Victorian downtown. Neighbors up the hill share driveway and property is lined by trees along Hastings Ave W, a popular local loop road, but otherwise you have complete privacy. please do not venture beyond well-marked property line.

Green Acre Camp
Nice level property with pretty trees nearby, great for van camping. We were not there long, so didn’t spend much time exploring. But it suited our needs just fine for a quick place to rest our heads for the night! Easy hookup to electrical as well.

We were looking for a place to crash to catch an early ferry ride the next morning and Tim's hipcamp worked out perfectly!

Great for stargazing.
Haven’t been to this area of Port Townsend before. So quiet and such a nice peaceful, rural setting. Lucky to have deer roaming through the camp while we were there. Not too far from town. Great experience.

Green Acre Camp
I have to say I was very surprised by the price and then just for the fact that there was an electrical hook up. We were staying there last minute for one night. , so I feel like this was why that was the only one that was available. There was a lot of junk… right by where we parked with our rv… it wasn’t a CAMP.. it was a pull by the side of a really busy road where we can hear traffic and park. No picnic table, no fire pit… just again to pull by the side of a busy road. I was a super host at Airbnb for three years so I know what it takes to be a super host and I know this is different, but this was not a hipcamp! I’m not sure how to add photos because I took photos but I’m not sure how to add them. We ended up spending pretty much $100 for the night to look at junk by a shed with a hookup.

A wee bit bummed
I think this is the first time I’ve been disappointed with a campsite. It’s as loosely described, service connections were there, and I suppose if you’re just looking for a flat spot to park, it serves that purpose. It mentions someone else’s driveway but fails to mention the hookups are about 20 feet from that driveway, so be prepared to hear them rumbling along on their way to work early in the morning, or having their train of guests peering at you when the come and go. It also mentions it’s right off a main road. What isn’t mentioned is that main roads speed limit is 50mph so be prepared to listen to cars flying by day and night about 30 feet from the hook ups. The fire pit is as described, what’s not mentioned is that it’s right next to a septic drain field. Idk if it’s being used but it made me wonder. I was bummed because I was expecting quiet, privacy, and some seclusion and that was not what this was. However we had a beautiful view of the stars and listened to barred owls very close by one night. Had I known about the road I likely would have chosen a different location.
