Running Water Creek Campgroud
It's a beautiful spot, but also very close to the highway and a train line. I'm accustomed to the noise as a city-dweller and had no problem getting a good night's sleep, but the noise might be an issue for those from the suburbs or rural areas. Maybe bring earplugs.

Cool spot but for the train
This is site was good because it was very private feeling and we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. The bathhouse had plenty of hot water for showers. There was some traffic noise from the highway which was livable but the train… the train practically drives through the campground and b/c there is an intersection nearby it honks the horn every time it comes through. This was at least every hour or so for us. Made for a rough night. Otherwise great spot.

Entry is not safe for a cruiser motorcycle, big incline with gravel. I chose not to stay when i saw this.

This place has much potential! We stayed six nights and were very comfortable. It's proximity to Chattanooga is a plus. There are train tracks close by, but not a big deal for us. There are no camp sites very close to the tracks and the noise from the horn wasn't bad at all. There is even WiFi available in the front part of the campground. We had no trouble streaming at all. It is very quiet and dark at night giving you the feel of being away from civilization.
The sites are not well marked. If you go up into the upper parts of the campground don't take your Prius, the roads are rough. If you are pulling anything, there are not good places to turn around.
The bathrooms were clean including the showers. There is abundant hot water and heaters in the bathrooms that work very well. The bath house has one glaring issue. There is one toilet and two showers on each side. One for men and one for women. There is no stall for either toilet. If you are like me and don't wish to greet anyone coming in while seated on the toilet you end up locking the whole thing out to others. If this had been a busy week there would be trouble getting access to the bathroom.
We had a great week and really enjoyed our stay!

Great camping!!
We had a great experience at Running Creek! Love the site by the river, plenty of room for us and the firing made for a great campfire! Plus the host has firewood by the entrance for the campers too- so nice!!
The bathrooms could use a touch up, but they were generally clean. It is so nice to have hot water for showers while camping too!
My daughter loved looking at all the flowers blooming and watching the river!!
We will definitely be back soon!
Also, I appreciate that the campground is gated. I’m usually a solo camper with my daughter and that added a bit of security.
Something that’s out of the hosts control is that there are trains that run overnight. It wasn’t too bothersome to me, but thought I’d share!
