We've been living off the grid for over 30 years. Come visit us and learn about our way of life! Enjoy complete privacy in a cozy forest retreat hut in a beautiful hollow in Middle Tennessee. Accommodates 2. Pretty steep 200 yd uphill hike to hut. Perfect for relationship getaway, spiritual retreat, or writing - planning intensive. Nationally-known spelunking (Indian Grave Point Cave) within 1/2 mile. 3 miles from Center Hill Lake. Hiking trails. Experience our alternative lifestyle with owner built solar log home, organic gardens and sculpture studio. Guests must arrive before dark to ensure finding correct address (GPS errs a last moment) and to facilitate hike up to hut. Potable water, trash disposal, and a toilet are available on site. Pets are permitted, as well as campfires (outside of burn bans). Guests love staying here: "Wow! This place is amazing, beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and super cozy on cold nights. I can not recommend this place enough. William is a gracious host. He made sure I had enough wood for the wood stove and spring water to drink. Big Beech Campsite

Idyllic camp spot

Beech Hollow was magical and William was a gracious host. His directions were clear and the drive was gorgeous. He has created a little paradise in that hollow and even though I live in Colorado I hope to go back some day. William built the best outhouse I’ve ever seen with lots of attention to details but I won’t spoil it for you. I made it to the camp spot in my Prius but I might not have been able to if it had been wet. In that case I would have had to take a short walk up to the site. He also has 1-1/2 miles of hiking trails in the woods. Oh! And a beautiful beech tree to look out on from your campfire or your tent. Enjoy!

Beautiful retreat from city life. Loved the wood burning stove. Best bathroom views. The cabin is incredibly built and neat. Overall a great stay. Loved being greeted by all the chickens and Wren and Rocket the dogs.

Looking at pictures & reviews I knew this was going to be a wonderful experience/stay -but didn’t realize how it would have exceeded my expectations. Upon my arrival William greeted me in the driveway, as if “a friend not seen for some time” …… you can feel and see his passion for his home & property as he spoke of its history, grounds, trails, logging roads, etc.. I was also so fortunate to have a tour of Williams workshop and gallery… such a “gift” to share “all this”with others! …Putting Life & nature back into perspective-Beech Hollow Hideout -What a Peaceful stay for myself & Mic🐾🐾! Already planning my next stay! Thank you William, Sharon, Wren&Rocket🐾🐾!!
