Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp to see in 2024, 2023, 2021, and runner up in 2022. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, a goat, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing. Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups. My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 2 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire. The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath. Uncle B's farm has been voted Best Hip Camp to see in South Dakota for the 3rd time.... Come see why...

Uncle B's Farm

First, let me say, Brian has renewed my faith in the goodness of your fellow man! Let’s face it… We live in turbulent times, it’s hard to know who to trust! My 21-year-old son and his buddy have very little camping experience and certainly have never done it solo. We are full blown urbanites. This was their first night on the road camping and Brian treated them like they were his own boys!!! Brian is just that Midwesterner who lives up to the reputation: Salt of the Earth. Even before my son arrived, Brian sent me a message checking on their ETA, like any concerned parent would. I don’t even know if he has kids, but he clearly knows what it is to be a parent! My son could not stop talking about how welcoming he was, how much he helped upon their arrival… Setting up tent, setting up camp fire, just everything you can imagine imagine. My son FaceTime videoed both last night at dusk and early this morning at Sunrise. If I could be struck by the sound of the birds chirping and the beauty of a special kind of light on the Prairie in South Dakota, imagine what it’s like to be there in person?!?! Anyway, you can’t go wrong with Brian at Uncle Bs. I can only hope to head back there someday and shake his hand in person.

Uncle B's RV Camper Site's

We had a fine stay with Uncle B, the site was level with easy back in access. Our host provided a S'mores kit and lots of suggestions for attractions along our route. Highly recommend.

Uncle B's Farm

Brian was an exceptional host, my group got to Uncle B’s Farm quite late and Brian was more than accommodating. During our one night stay Brian gave us s’mores fixings, a bumper sticker, a tour of all of his animals, and even attempted to convince us to bring home a puppy from his latest litter (it almost worked). Brian was so kind, it’s easy to see that he cares about his visitors and strives to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience at his site. I’m already looking forward to the next time I get the opportunity to stay at Uncle B’s!

Uncle B's Farm

Best spot ever.

We rolled in and easily found our spot. Had a wonderful HOT shower. Fell asleep to the sound of frogs and crickets, woke up to the sound of turkeys and roosters. Peaceful as ever. Then had a day brightener of hanging out with Uncle B’s puppies. Sent us off with a care package of stickers and smores. Couldn’t recommend it more. 10/10

Uncle B's Farm

Amazing host!

Brian was such a nice host. He hooked us up with s'mores supplies, a bumper sticker, a pen, and even helped us get a fire started. We were lucky enough to be Brian's last campers of the season. There are two 3/4 bathrooms with hot water and flushing toilets. Both were very clean. There are nice amenities at each site like picnic tables and fire pits. There is even a playground! The ground where we pitched our tent was soft and flat. We definitely recommend Uncle B's Farm! Thanks Brian :)

Paradise in South Dakota

Uncle B's Hipcamp is so marvelous! I can not rate it highly enough.beautiful spot to see both a sunset and a sunrise, hot shower. Clean rest rooms. Dry firewood and farm fresh eggs. And he is such a friendly responsive host! He even had a litter of adorable puppies and a playground and games for kids! Oh and a package of ingredients for S'Mores. Paradise on South Dakota.
