With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, and plenty of wildlife. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1930's. My grandpa purchased this property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, "jeeping". Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. The firewood is excess cutoffs purchased from a local sawmill. Forge Hill
Forge Hill
Rick has some awesome campsites, we stayed at one of his newer sites "forge Hill" right of the river bend... and enjoyd a beautiful night stay. we got to hike through to check out some of the other spots because we were the only ones camping that day and I must say every site was just as amazing as the one we stay at. We found a few edible mushrooms, wild garlic, and ramp, and some eye catch blue bells. We definitely would to come back just to experience some of the other site especially "Big Bend", and we highly recommend camping at Ricks place he was an great host friendly and provide firewood at each site.

Forge Hill
Forge Hill
We really enjoyed Rick’s property! We stayed at Forge Hill. Easy to follow directions. Check in was simple: we drove straight to the campsite. Which was right next to the river. There was plenty of firewood. Rick stopped by and introduced himself. A very cool guy! It was quiet for being close to the road. The birds really sing. The outhouse was a short walk away. Bring some wet wipes to clean leaves and spider webs from the seat. The only issue I had is that it’s not facing the river so I could have a nice view while using the Latrine lol! We explored the land, crossed two interesting bridges and seen all the cool wildflowers. Especially the bluebells, they’re definitely putting on a show right now! Seen morels, figwort, garlic mustard, and ramps. We can’t wait to return to stay at Big Bend! A perfect overnight getaway! Thanks Rick!

Big Bend
Rick's tent camping area is a peaceful forest setting, well-maintained sites, and ample space for tents and campfires. Rick is welcoming and knowledgeable about the local trails and fishing spots. Facilities are clean and the area is close to attractions yet secluded enough for enjoying nature. Highly recommended for a relaxing camping experience!

Deep Woods
Solar Eclipse April 2024
Deep Woods was an amazing stay; the campsite was beautifully caressed by the river, which is such a nice background noise. It is a decent walk back through the woods but thankfully Rick was super helpful getting our camp gear in and out. Highly recommend!

Lake View
Loved the Lake View Site!
Had a great time staying at the Lake View site! It felt very private and we had lots of room to spread out 4 tents with room to spare. There are lots of cool places to explore on the property and Rick was very kind. The fire pit and picnic table were on a bit of a slope, so its best for young, nimble campers, but plenty of flat areas for tents up in the wooded areas. The lake was lovely, lots of cool animals to see (frogs, snakes, turtles, birds, etc) and a stunning view of the solar eclipse! It was a magical trip and we will definitely book again!
