My parents moved to Maine in 1978, and bought this property in 1984, in the tail end of the back to the land movement. They were already in their 50s and my dad immediately started forming sheep. He's gone now and the land belongs to me, but I have friends who are working on farming this land, and I'm using it in my own way to help my family. I lost my husband in April of 2019, and while we still deeply grieve, we have found some joy in turning our property into a sanctuary for our guests. My son Eli, daughter Francie, and son's partner Kayla are all active parts of our little business. When I'm not gardening or working on my rental sites, I teach violin to little ones.Peace and quiet, good neighbors, a place for the kids to play and for you to sit and watch, sipping the beverage of your choice! The Cooley-Davies Homestead is a perfect escape. The joys of camping, but a lot of the headaches taken away.
We provide a spacious screen house with a kitchen, living, and dining areas. Kitchen equipment and staple groceries are provided. Water is available from a spigot near the campsite, but we provide you with an ample supply when you arrive.

The toilet is inside a pleasant tent and another tent has our hot shower.
There is space for you to put your own tent if you have more than 5 folks. We also have a barbecue grill and a fire pit.
Take advantage of the beautiful walks on our road, and the many nature preserves and lakes in our immediate area. Taken hour and a quarter trip to Acadia using the shortcuts we provide!
When the season is right, come back home to find fresh-picked veggies for your dinner.
