Our town Mountain Ranch has Saturday afternoon craft fairs, occasionally car shows, farmers market, etc. Small historic sites are nearby in Cave City, Mokelumne Museum and old town San Andres with a Saloon and performing arts theater. Cabin is small, but offers ALL needed accessories; kitchen supplies, campsite amenities like fire starter, smores sticks and choice of Weber or gas grill, Mr coffee pot with filters and sugar, several family activities both outdoor and indoor to unplug from technology like books, puzzles, magazines or just zone out in the peaceful environment and watch the wildlife come to eat and drink. There is a TV with about 1000 DVD movies to select from and there is a cell tower nearby for cell service, so that you'll still have contact to the outside world. There is also a projector for outdoor movie watching. And if you have an electric car there is a 220 plug in, but don't forget your home charger. The property is in the heart of the Butte Fire that passed through back in 2015. You’ll see first hand just how close the fire came to so many homes and marvel at the regrowth over the past years. The property itself is an adventure. Our property goes back another 2.5 acres behind the top sitting area that’s being cleared from the fires you can explore. We also built a treehouse platform sitting area to enjoy coffee or just zone out that faces the creek. We have one campsite on the property that has it's own fire ring and private location for tent camping, or camper van set up, but just a bridge over the creek walk to main sitting area, outdoor shower/porta potty and parking for extra vehicles around the cabin. Inside the cabin: *Inside the cabin there is one queen size bed and one full size blow up mattress for two adults on the bed and two children on the blow up along with bedding. *Any additional guests may put up a tent outside. Dog bed, electric heater, wood burning stove, a/c during the summer months, wrap-around table that can sit 4-6 guests, stove, microwave and small refrigerator or ice box. Outside there are different areas to relax and hang out. Toss games, swings, hammocks out during the summer, treehouse platform for morning coffee, two outhouses and an outdoor shower right next to the cabin and lots of wildlife that walks through. Across the ravine you'll see signs and red ties that are the property lines and there are trails along those markers to explore through the fallen trees. All you need are groceries and we have a store on the way you can do that on the way called Senders in Mountain Ranch. It will be on the right hand side after you pass the gas station and looks like an Ace Hardware. Where you’ll find local wines, big ribeye steaks cheaper than the Bay Area, Deli with great sandwiches and anything you can think of they have it plus the extra nik nak if you wanted a souvenir. There is also a local bar to play a game of pool, grab a bite to eat and watch a sports game. There are also a couple food options; Wildlife Cafe and Heart of Gold Cafe in the general area of the gas station with road advertising signs. All have good reviews if you google them. We really love this place and come up every other weekend to clean, split wood, clean fallen trees and enjoy the nature. We try to keep it up, so others can also enjoy getting away too. Over the years guests have added their touches with stacking wood, creating a labyrinth, painting rocks and leaving us gifts that we treasure and do our best to preserve. We just ask that you treat it like your home too 😊 Our hope is that you ... Enjoy, relax and have a nice time in nature away from your technology and regroup for the week ahead. Don't worry about the laundry or trash...we take care of all of that. Please tag us in your pictures on Instagram @CozyCabin_MokeHill and take a sticker as a souvenir you'll find in the white binder. Cozy Cabin
Family w/ small children & teenager
We loved Steven and Michelle’s cabin. The property is beautiful and plenty of space to explore. The cabin has everything you would need and plenty of firewood for campfire. Everything was ready and clean for us to use. Our family had so much fun, there was something for everyone to enjoy. We loved the great selection of dvds for movie nights, all the sport toys, zipline and hammock. The bed was so comfortable and warm. The shower was relaxing. Felt like a home away from home. We had a great spring break would like to visit in the summer. We highly recommend Steven and Michelle’s cozy cabin. Thank you for everything!

Cozy Cabin
Glamping at its best
Only negative I can think of is the lack of cell service, but then that’s kinda a positive too! What a charming property centered around an efficiency style little cabin. It looks like a place that was built and maintained by a professional carpenter or similar. Lots of little custom made items. Perfect with families with kids and various sizes of groups. There is only one queen bed inside the cabin so everyone else is camping, there were a number of hood tent sites scattered around the property past the super fun zip line, or across the bubbling creek. They have three grills, an awesome fire pit and a full kitchen. If you need something to do after dark, they have a dvd player and some board games. I’m looking forward to my next visit, maybe when it is colder and the pot belly stove in the cabin would come into play.

Cozy Cabin
Cozy, Comfy, Generous, Grateful!
This IS a cozy cabin and so much more. One can expect well thought out spaces for relaxing, reflecting, and just being. If that's not your type of getaway, then there are games galore for indoors and outdoors, a zipline, a slack line and a labryinth to walk all on the property. Truly something for everybody. If you bring your dog, they will love it. See the photos for how they prepared for my pup to join us. All you have to bring is your food, or you can head into town for meal prep. There are markets not too far away. Don't bring spices, cups, plates, etc... because honestly, they have it all (see photos) . Such generous hosts. The water running in the creek was a huge bonus. They had firewood galore for us, charcoal briquets, propane in the gas barbecue, ready to go. The outdoor shower and compost toilet, may be intimidating to some, but honestly both are so well created, you feel comfortable. The shower has delightfully warm water and you can shower while looking at the trees, but within a private space. Oh, and the bed is super comfy. We slept so well. We felt honored to be in this space and will definitely return! Thank you generous hosts!
