2024 total eclipse
In the path of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse.
We are surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. Within an hour or less, you will find hiking and bike trails, 4-wheeling/ATV, crystal mining, diamond mining, historic Hot Springs, museums and so much more. Or, you can just put your chair in the water and hang out on the gravel bar. Arrowhead has been rated as "The Best Swimming Hole in Arkansas" by the Arkansas Times®. Our facilities, located in Caddo Gap, include, cabin rentals, bunkhouse accommodations for 50 (w/separate quarters for boys & girls), screened pavilion with kitchen, RV sites with full-hook-ups and septic, semi-primitive campsites, bathhouse, nearby canoe and kayak rentals, swimming, fishing, basketball court, and tether ball.*** 2024 Eclipse Info *** Very low (tiny) light pollution. We're working on even getting that turned off for a few hours. Video of tents on the river at dusk: https://youtu.be/WKAUtFjy-gE?si=saRACuEjZOZJ7Vz_ --- For the eclipse only, --- * Reservations are 100% non-refundable. Rains, snow, flat tires (We hope not!), illness (We hope not!), alien abduction (Not too likely.). We're doing this by request only. Go ahead and request to book and we'll make sure you're informed before you choose to lock in your reservation. We're not so strict most of the year. Thanks for understanding! * Check-ins must be before Monday. Please be here by Sunday night. We want you to avoid the traffic and last-minute stressors. * We strongly suggest you stay over Monday night. Let everyone else in the area clear out while you chill on the river. * We will be marking off 20' x 20' site spaces. They are still first-come/first-served. Expect to be close to your new friends. Unless you are early, expect that you may be away from the river, over by the creek or the RV area. But, no more than a few minutes walk. The whole campground is pretty, we promise. * Tenters may be asked to park away from their tent. We'll keep you as close as we can (within walking distance) and you will be able to drive to your site to pick-up/drop-off. * Please leave your pets at home. * We will be selling ice and firewood. Our suppliers are small businesses, too. We will have as much as they can keep up with. * Bring extra TP. We will have extra compost toilets. * Electricity will be limited to cell phone charging and other small electronics. Please do not bring heaters. * Keep alcohol consumption within reasonable levels. Ok, that's always. :D * Keep an eye out for messages from us as we think of ways to make this event run smoothly. * Questions Welcomed! --- Regular Season Below --- * Extra guest pricing and some other things are based on the eclipse, right now. Talk with the office for regular pricing. ** Shaded, semi-primitive, non-defined (first come/first served) camping. You may even score a riverfront spot, depending on when you arrive. Many people prefer along the shady creek. We have 15 beautiful shaded acres, so you'll definitely find a spot. Please note, when you are looking at the map, the numbered areas are RV sites, Not tent camping. Look for the areas on the Campground Map that say "camping".  The big E denotes shared electrical hookups.  We have big clean bathrooms and hot showers. Camping areas are both near and far from small rustic cabins and RVs. Choose secluded locations or new friends. Shared electricity in some places. Bring your long extension cord. We also have a little shop that likely has anything you forgot. A full grocery store is 8 miles away, also. We sell firewood, ice and ice cream, too! NOTE: If the office is closed, pick a spot and check-in in the morning. There are several local float outfitter companies we can recommend. Book early! We're near tons of hiking, biking, OTV trails and surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. Diamond and crystal mining and historic Hot Springs, AR.

Caddo River River-front Camping
A solitary visit
I arrived after dark during the last week of the season, so my experience was very different from the camaraderie and festivity I have read about in other reviews, but I could still sense the good vibes and laid back atmosphere. I was traveling alone with my dog and sleeping in my car, and since it was dark I chose to just park by an empty cabin . Waverly came by and was so friendly and welcoming, she even suggested that I use the cabin’s sleeping porch which was wonderful since it was raining in the morning and I had a comfy spot to look out at the river and fix my coffee. Definitely a very positive experience!

Just what the doctor ordered!
Our host was so friendly. Super accommodating. They were there for anything we needed, but still gave us our space and privacy. The campground was beautiful! Picture perfect…. Serene and not crowded. Dog Dog the campground dog was a total sweetheart. We absolutely loved camping here, and will return.

A thousand stars ✨
Great spot to tent camp on the river. Close to little Missouri falls, wolf gap, hot springs, mt ida—but it’s so pretty you don’t have leave unless you want to. Felt extremely safe as a female traveling alone since it’s close to a road (can’t see it though!), there’s WiFi and cell service, and there was staff on site throughout my weeklong stay. Showers and bathrooms a plus. Waverly, Mike, and co are all amazing, genuine, lovely people. A thousand stars.
