Near Saguaro National Park
Within a 30-minute drive from the Red Hills Visitor Center.
We wanted to create a space for people to experience and fall in love with the Sonoran Desert like we did when we were living in our camper full-time traveling the West. Sonoran Skyline offers an escape to the beauty of the Sonoran Desert and the incredibly diverse flora and fauna that make this land so unique. We are in Picture Rocks West on the northwest side of Tucson, with Saguaro National Park Red Hills Visitor Center (West), Tucson Mountain Park, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, and Old Tucson Studios all within minutes. Quiet, dirt roads, incredible skies, but easy access to everything Tucson has to offer! *Please read the entire listing - This spot is for campervans, slide-in truck campers, and c class RVs only. NO TENTS, TOWED VEHICLES OR TRAILERS OF ANY SIZE. NO CAR CAMPING. All units must have their own bathroom inside the camper!* You will park on the west side of our property on a large limestone gravel parking area where you will be surrounded by mature saguaros, established palo verdes, large mesquite trees, prickly pear, many different types of cholla, and so much more. Only campervans, slide-in truck campers, or class c RV units with a bathroom. We do live on the property and this is a rural neighborhood on the outskirts of Saguaro National Park West. No generators or fires (only propane). Let us know if you would like to rent our propane firepit and we can have it set up before you arrive. Learn more about the land: We are in a well-kept rural neighborhood on the west side of Tucson - which is the best of both worlds in our book. While this is a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Tucson, you will have cars go by from time to time so don’t expect complete remoteness! And yes, you can see our house and a couple of other houses. That being said, the sunsets are incredible and the wildlife out here is plentiful. There’s a good chance you will see anything from coyotes, javelinas, roadrunners and owls to quail, hawks, cardinals, snakes, lizards, rabbits, hummingbirds, and many of the other creatures we get to share the beautiful Sonoran Desert with. We are super close to the National Park (5 minutes) and minutes away from incredible hiking and never-ending views of saguaros and the surrounding Tucson Mountains, Gatest Pass, Ironwood National Monument and more. If you are looking for a safe, private place to park for all your exploring needs, Sonoran Skyline is it. Also a great place for any full-timers, as the service out here is good ( and we do have WiFi you can use). This is a dry camping spot, but we do have a water spigot and filter you can use if you'd like to fill up your tanks. Just let us know. Our property is a Certified Wildlife Habitat and we ask you to please be mindful and know you may see or encounter many different types of wildlife while here. Please be respectful and always watch your step! Because the property is not fully fenced in, we do not allow pets at this time. We do have three rescue dogs who you may hear from time to time, as well as a distant bark from other neighborhood hounds. Lucky guests may wake up to a neighborly ‘nay’ from Magic, the resident horse across the way. Please, no tobacco use. Why Sonoran Skyline? We loved it so much here that we stopped living in our camper so we could live in the Sonoran Desert and fabulous Tucson full-time. One of the first things we did was create a camp space so others could enjoy it like we do! We are continuing to add to and update the property and space, but we hope you enjoy your time at Sonoran Skyline. There are two Speedway gas stations, several great food trucks, and a general store all within a 2-minute drive if you need any necessities. Downtown Tucson is about a 27 minute drive and there are tons of wonderful restaurants, bars, markets and so on within the 20-25is minute drive into town.Park your camper van, slide-in truck camper, small c class RV amongst mature saguaros on a limestone gravel-packed area on our wild desert land and soak up the beautiful Painted Desert skies. While we do live on the property, where you will park is a private area on the west side of our land, the perfect space to unwind and enjoy the sunset and sights and sounds of the desert. No tents, car camping, trailers, or towed vehicles of any size. **All units must be self-contained with their own bathroom inside! No ** We do not offer electrical hookups at this time, so this is an ideal spot for you solar-powered folks!

Nice late night stop over
We arrived pretty late at night and it was raining hard so we didn’t utilize the outside at all. We also left right when we woke up to get a full day at the park in. This was incredibly close to the saguaro national park. The site is really cute and set up nicely. It is in a neighborhood and you can see the neighbors house from where you park and a few feet away from the main house too.

Sunrise amidst saguaros
We woke up to a beautiful sunrise amidst the saguaros! This was a sweet little spot to spend the night on our way through the area. The property was well kept and so charming being right in the middle of saguaro country. We didn’t have enough time to sit and enjoy the seating area, but would have liked to as we saw lots of birds and bunnies while we were there, and the gorgeous cactus varieties all around were beautiful. We have a 24’ Sprinter and had no trouble coming or going into the parking space. There is a good stretch, a couple blocks, of dirt/sand road that is a little bit uneven but it was much easier to drive on than it looks. I would absolutely recommend this spot for an overnight.

Super helpful hosts, clean space
We stayed for one night as our first stop to a long trip. Allie gave out a lot of information in advance, the day before and the day of so we felt very welcomed even though we didn’t have a chance to meet because of our late arrival and early departure. There are many cactus on the land, some very big so it was a nice appetizer for what was to come visiting Saguaro and Catalina park. I also liked that there was a small table and chairs in the middle so we could eat before leaving. Make sure to use Allie’s directions for the road to take because the road suggested by the computer is very bumpy.

Would definitely stay again
Ii stayed here almost a full week. It was a beautiful little curated desert garden that I got to park in. I felt like I had the whole place to myself. My camper van is fully self-contained and has solar so I was fully set up take advantage of this place. Nice, level parking. It was quiet and enjoyable. The road getting in is a little rough but I had no problems. There is a bit of traffic near where you park, but I don't think anybody even noticed me parked there. This is a really nice spot to park, did have to dispose of my gray water and garbage at nearby facilities as this spot has none. That's not a problem as I've been doing that for the last two years living from this van. Anyway, the price this is hard to beat. It's a short drive into a beautiful national park. This was a much nicer spot to park than any of the nearby free BLM camping was packed with people.
