Weekend Trip to Shanti Retreat

What a great little place this is! It's a nice escape from urban life, forest to the right and back, and farmland surrounding you everywhere else. The cottage is clean, tidy and has everything you'd really need for a weekend away. Paul the host is a great help and lovely to chat to. Definitely on the list to revisit!

Nice perimeter walk for the dogs (on lead). Multitude of kangaroos, emus in border paddock. Friendly inquisitive chickens. A variety of native bird species viewed from verandah. Great canoe launching spot at Jalbaragup Bridge.

Weekend Trip to Shanti Retreat

If you want to connect with nature while being comfortable and warm during cold nights, this place is the place to be. It's a very cosy little house with everything we needed. We enjoyed the fireplace and sitting on the verandah watching wildlife. From the property, we saw Emus, many birds like scarlet robins, red-tails, blue-wrens etc, and a couple of possums on our night walk. The house is a short drive from two towns- Bridgetown and Balingup. We explored both towns and loved both.

Wow! We loved every second…even decided to stay another night…and to be honest we could’ve stayed another week. Doggies had the best time ever! The cabin was rustic and the bed comfortable It was exactly what we needed a nice getaway. Mary was lovely and provided info on local dining establishments but also responded quickly and provided items that we forgot. We enjoyed the watching the chooks and other animals around the farm Thanks Mary for showing us around your property and the amazing work that has been done to the original homestead
