Escape to nature at Koala Coast Retreat Farm, a peaceful haven nestled in the scenic hills of Wattle Flat, on the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula. 

Enjoy spacious RV park facilities, explore our three tranquil marked walking trails (keeping your eye out for Koalas!), and take in sweeping views of the beautiful Fleurieu hills and the coast of Gulf St Vincent. Savour fresh local produce including farm-fresh eggs and golden honey. A function space is available to relax in, with lounge, TV, dart board, billiards table, and air hockey. The perfect blend of relaxation and rural charm awaits.

The property is just minutes from the Myponga Reservoir and Fleurieu Gin distillery, which is well worth a visit. 

At this time, all guests need to be fully self-contained, and we kindly ask all waste is taken with you.

Six Strings - McLaren Vale Vineyard

Six Strings is a family owned six-acre vineyard in the heart of the McLaren Vale wine region on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula - one of the region's most loved holiday destinations for both locals and travellers.  We're a short drive from the stunning beaches of Port Willunga, Silver Sands and Sellicks, plus the many celebrated McLaren Vale wineries. A short walk will take you into the historic Aldinga main street, where you'll find the pub, a boutique brewery, cafés, restaurants and a few handy shops.

If you're interested, you can book in a private wine/barrel tasting experience with our Winemaker during your stay for $10 per person,  just let us know when you book.

Pets are welcome, but please keep them on a leash or contained. Our friendly Cavoodle has free run of the property and will almost definitely come looking for pats (and maybe snacks).

McLaren Vale National Park View

We have 20 acres at picturesque McLaren Vale, backing onto the Onkaparinga Gorge National Park. Set up camp on our open field and enjoy sea views and fantastic sunsets, as well as spot local wildlife from your camp chair, including kangaroos and a few koala's from time to time and many native bird species.

The National Park has numerous walking trails to explore, and we are only a few minute's drive away from many wineries, local shops, restaurants and local beaches. It's an ideal base camp to explore this popular region. 

All campers must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet and we kindly ask you to take all waste when you go.

Marion Bay Bush Camping

200 Acre property previously used for grain and livestock. Wildlife includes kangaroos, emus, wide variety of bird and geese, many of which you can see on our facebook page. 

All the campsites have been developed from naturally occurring breaks in the scrub making the environment of campers naturally appealing and less damaging. You can enjoy the convenience of being one minute away from the town centre, general store and tavern. 

By camping here, you can expect a premium level of privacy separation between sites with your experience coming before profit maximising in our eyes. We have sites to fit all sizes with our largest and most separated being site 7. Overall we aim to offer the most authentic camping experience for all. 

Firewood collection is prohibited. Land owner may do camp site inspection at anytime. Land owner has the rights to evict if you are not following our rules.

On requesting a site you will be asked to read the conditions and provide some details including vehicle registration and full names. This is seperate to Hipcamp and requested by the property owners on each booking.

Camp Cygnet

You will be staying in a central location on the beautiful Kangaroo Island. Our working sheep farm is 24 kms from Parndana , 24 kms from Kingscote and a 45 minute drive from Penneshaw. 

Kangaroo Island is famous for its pristine beaches and abundant wildlife.  

These sites do not include toilet or water facilities, but we hope to offer this in the future. Please ensure you take all rubbish with you so we can maintain the beauty for the next guests. Please get in touch if you would like to bring well behaved pets or are travelling in a group. 

The camp locations are all private spaces.

Emu Bay Hideaway,  Kangaroo Island

Welcome to your dream destination!! 

We have two different locations available in Kangaroo Island with some options of sites in each. 

FIRST LOCATION: 

EMU BAY HIDEAWAY-30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay.

Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote. 

 Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property.  There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather.

There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water.

SECOND LOCATION:

Farm Stay about 15 km from Emu Bay and 20km from the main town of Kingscote. This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island.

There are several beautiful sites. This location is fairly central to most KI visitor attractions. It is a secure place to set up camp and have peace of mind that your belongings will be safe while you are away from the site. The host takes care to situate sites to give campers the feeling of exclusiveness.

NOTES;

Check with me before lighting a campfire - this depends on the season and risk. Dogs are permitted if well controlled (register visiting dogs with local council).

Meanfeat Downs

A beautiful location 12 km from Kingscote and a shot drive from Kangaroo island brewery. 300m from the bay off shoals and around the corner from Emu bay Boxing bay and Turners Drive looking over Kingscote Harbour.

The property abundant with wildlife, kangaroos, wallabies, goannas, echidna and passing koalas. The bird life is spectacular and never ending. 

You can choose your spot to nestle in to overlooking the bay, Wisagna hills or the range behind Emu bay.

Pink Lake Glamping

Escape the nine-to-five and unwind. You will be staying at a working broadacre farm specializing in premium livestock that supplies five-star restaurants interstate, as well as premium boxed produce delivered to your door in all major cities. Come at the right season, and you'll get to see the action—think Clarkson's Farm. Seeding begins around Anzac Day (±5 days), and harvest starts in the third week of November.

Nestled among native tea trees and overlooking our salt lake, this is a beautiful natural site to pull up in your self-contained RV, caravan, or camper.

Didn't pack for the occasion? We have your back. If we have availability, check out our single- or two-room stone cottages (more than 130 years old), the barn, or the blacksmith rooms.

Our studios and cabins accommodate between one and seven guests and are just a short walk from the beach. Perfectly located on Kangaroo Island, the park provides easy access to all the island’s attractions and is only 3 km from downtown Kingscote, the largest town on the island.

This is the perfect park if you love peace and quiet, wildlife, and nature. Spot koalas, wallabies, and some of the island’s most beautiful birdlife right from the property.

A highlight of the park is the camp kitchen, a welcoming gathering space with plenty of tables and chairs, two barbecues, a full-size stove and oven, fridge/freezer, and a dedicated fish/bait freezer.

Boer Goats and Australian White Sheep are the livestock we farm. At various times of the year we have baby goats and lambs, they are so adorable.

Located only 1 km from the township of Marion Bay, it is an easy stroll via the beach or road to the local jetty, Tavern, shop, playground, and community centre.

The amazing Dhilba-Guuranda National Park is only 6 km away,  providing many choices of great beaches - well known for surfing, fishing,  swimming, and hiking trails.

Pets are welcome ... but we do ask that they be kept on a lead and not left unsupervised whilst on the property. Clean up after your dogs, so no-one has to step in their poop!!

The walk-on beach is dog friendly.

A brief history of Ballara...Ballara is the 100-year-old family home built for William and Emilia (Millie) Baker & their five children. Built in 1910, it is understood Millie would not come to Warooka until the house was finished and furnished! Wise woman!William Baker came to Warooka as a young boy in 1884 with his mother, sister and 2 brothers, after the sudden death of his father.In the early 1900s, Will and his brother Alf became storekeepers, trading as Baker Bros. and running 2 stores in Warooka. Will, Alf and younger brother, Tom, also went on to become farmers.William met Millie when she came from Ballarat to visit her sister who lived at Warooka. Millie named her new home 'Ballara' in memory of her home town.A feature of the house is its ornate ceilings, and story has it that visitors came from afar especially to view them.William ran a wheat agency from an office on the front verandah and was also a contact for World War 1 recruitment.In 1927, William sadly died at only 50 years of age, leaving Millie on her own with their 5 children Doreen, Dulcie, William jr. (Bill), Ron, and Betsy.Millie died in 1965 and Ron continued living at Ballara until his death in 1988.Having never married and with no children of his own, Ron left the house and contents to his 10 nieces and nephews.After the family furniture was divided, Bill bought the house and placed it in the names of his three daughters.Carli and Penny were both able to enjoy some time living in the family home. Ballara still remains in the Baker family and is currently being cared for by Bill’s youngest daughter, Steph.
