The Bales are centrally located a handy 10 minutes from Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads and 15 min from Byron Bay and Bangalow making it an ideal spot to be able to explore the area. It is easy to get into the local restaurants, markets, beaches rivers and walks. 

The bales have been renovated and they are clean and fresh with rustic charm. It is comfortable and spacious with a comfortable queen sized bed, clean toilet and shower, fridge and a kitchenette and lounge area. The views look out onto the rolling green hills of Myocum and is surrounded by farmland with horses, chickens and cows. Sunrise and sunsets are amazing and there is a lot of bird life on the property.

There is room to pitch a tent on a level well maintained area outside the bales if you need too or you can stay self contained in the bales. its up to you. 

Your Hosts Rachel and Luke live on the property in the main house and can offer you advice on local attractions.

The property is suitable for families and couples after a quiet experience.

Sarabah Camping

Sarabah is a 300 acre working cattle property located along the upper reaches of the pristine Canungra Creek and in the foothills of the Lamington National Park. Access is possible in 2WD in fine weather but 4WD will be needed in wet weather.

Guests must be fully self-contained including toilet and drinking water - no facilities provided. We ask for minimal impact - removal of all waste and rubbish is the guest's responsibility.

Dogs are permitted but must be under control at all times. Open fires permitted only in fire pits provided - subject to local restrictions when applicable. 

Firewood is available and delivered to your campsite. Please message Steve 48 hours prior to arrival if you would like firewood.

We currently have 8 campsites that can be booked: The Campground (site 1), The Secret Spot (site 2), The Picnic Ground (site 3), The Overflow (site 4), The Rock Shelf (site 5), The Nook (site 6), The Paddock (site 7) and The Cranny (site 8). 

 All sites have creek frontage and are private and a reasonable distance away from other sites. Note: vehicles, camper trailers, caravans and toilets are not to be set up within 10m of the creek as per local government by-laws.

When booking, select one of these 8 sites and you will have exclusive use of that site for your stay. Please note that the price is per person and all guests must be included when booking. Bookings can be altered (guests added and deleted) by the person making the booking and it is their responsibility to collect payment from others for whom they have booked and paid.

OZ SKY RANCH

Oz Sky Ranch is set on 350+ acres in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland, just outside of Brisbane at the bottom of Mount Tambourine near Canungra. We cater to adventurous souls, with a range of adventure tourism activities in and around our property. Try tandem hang-gliding and paragliding and a full range of hang gliding and paragliding courses or just bring your own stand-up paddleboards and kayaks. Our lake is lovely and clean and is great to swim in.

We opened up our working cattle and turf farm to promote Hang gliding and paragliding, we believe the more people see it, then the more people may like to come for a tandem flight or learn to fly with us. You can buy a friend or loved one a gift of a life time. Tandem hang gliding gift vouchers are very popular, as you get to take off from the property and flyover you’re campsite and then up to 2500ft. Then come and land right next to your friends and family at the Oz Sky Ranch. 

We pride ourselves on keeping the property lovely and clean. We are also opening our home and farm to you. So please respect it and enjoy it as we do.

We have 5 designated campsites positioned around the property. Within the designated sites, there are camp spots that we rotate.

Please check with us to see what ones are open. We need to rotate the sites and rest them. This is how we keep them well-maintained and looking amazing. If it is wet weather we will close down sites and recommend other spots.

We rotate the sites and rest them. Then they don’t get overused. We want our camp sites to look lovely for you. We pride our self’s on having a lovely property. 

If it is bad weather, we will recommend another site or we can give you a full refund.

Campfires are allowed at designated camp spots when fire bans aren't in place. Firewood is available to purchase .

We have a no dog policy.

We accept groups however we have strict rules around this, so please discuss with us first.

If you are up early in the morning you may be lucky enough to see the best in QLD barefoot water skiers training on the lake and also tandem hang gliders getting towed up from the airstrip. 

All campers must check in before dark and call me before entering.

Canungra Valley Getaway

Nestled on the upper reaches of the Canungra Creek is YOUR OWN EXCLUSIVE CAMP SPOT.  Rocky Crossong isAdults only except school holiday where we will take two children.  Platypus Retreat is for everyone.

We are on a 164 acre cattle property with direct access to the Canungra Creek which flows year-round with various swimming holes, so come and enjoy this unspoiled environment without no noise or bother of other campers.

Spot is sitting on the edge of creek suitable for three caravans or three camper trailers.

We welcome self-sufficient campers who have their own toilet facilities. All campers must have a portable toilet used by all their guests and leave no trace.

Rivertree Farm

Rivertree Farm is the home of the Rivertree Highland Cattle fold.

Rivertree is a 30 acre property nestled in a bend of the Coomera River, in the picturesque Illinbah Valley. Located in the lush Gold Coast hinterland, a 30 minute drive to Binna Burra or a 15 minute drive from Canungra; the gateway to the World Heritage Lamington National Park and O’Reilly’s. 

Camping is suitable for most types of campers, although access for large caravans is limited. You must be self sufficient as there are no facilities/amenities (ie, no toilets or access to running water).

Well behaved dogs that won't chase cattle are welcome (tick protection is recommended for them). Fires are permitted as long as no restrictions are in place. BYO wood.


Stonesthrow

Stonesthrow is a rural property in the Illinbah valley, nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, with council approval for limited camping (4WD only - leave no trace). So if you want to escape the crowds at public campgrounds, your privacy and enjoyment are assured! 

We are NOT a 4WD park so vehicles must be parked up at your site on arrival and left there unless leaving the property to go to town/tourist activities. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave.

There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. 

Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT/mud tyres only and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own chemical camping toilets. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We reserve the right to view/verify your toilet before allowing you access to the elevated/remote sites.

Well behaved dogs welcome as long as they are on a lead when moving about the property. The common area (old shearing shed) has composting toilets, communal fridge, microwave, jug, drinking water, sink for washing up and table/chairs.
