The property features three sandbars linked by box and ancient Red Gums, along with a natural billabong and wetland surrounded by magnificent Red Gum forest. Part of the farm includes large red sandhills, where a registered gravesite is located. Downham Farm is rich in historical, ecological, and cultural significance, including early paddle boat mooring and wood harvesting. A hundred-year-old restored homestead and cottage tell the story of the past, complemented by rustic horse stables and a blacksmith shop. The farm is abundant in natural beauty and wildlife. For modern amenities, Downham offers a basketball court, tennis court, and a golf driving range with a country twist. Guests can enjoy day access to the river, a boat ramp, kayaking, fishing, fire cooking (on non-fire-ban days), BBQ areas, birdwatching, walking trails, bike and jogging tracks, self-guided tours, a woodshed, an old telegraph track, an airstrip, a rabbit-proof fence, and our version of Big Red Sandhill. There is also a display of local art and sculptures, along with an on-site art gallery.
