We offer a unique elevated off-grid glamping experience for those seeking a private, peaceful, and comfortable retreat surrounded by nature. You will enjoy secluded luxury glamping in the beautiful Blue Ridge Highlands forest of Southwest Virginia. Located in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, just minutes from the Appalachian Trail, Grayson Highlands State Park (where you will find herds of wild ponies), Whitetop Mnt, Mount Rogers & the Virginia Creeper Trail.Upon arrival, you will enjoy a spacious four-season canvas tent in a beautiful private setting surrounded by nature. The outdoor space includes an attached porch with cozy deck chairs, an adjacent firepit with a seating area, and a picnic table. The tent interior includes a queen bed, comfortable linens, extra blankets, nightstands, lanterns, towels, a kitchenette with a stainless steel water dispenser, a ceramic sink, a 14-gallon cooler, and a dining table. A private outdoor hot shower and restroom are located next to the space. The space is the only campsite on the property and is very private. It is a short walk (250 ft) from the parking area and far enough away from the host's house that you will have complete privacy. In addition, we provide a propane cooktop (with fuel), an over-fire cooking grate, pots and pans, cooking tools, dishes, potable water, lighters, cleaning supplies, several games, and reading materials. There is complimentary coffee, tea, cream, and sugar and one complimentary smores kit. A tabletop BearVault is provided for the safekeeping of all provided food. * WIFI* There is no wifi or electricity in the glamping tent or campsite. However, you can access wifi from the parking area and there is a portable battery pack in the tent to charge devices. * Helpful Information* - Our driveway is a bit hidden and can be easily overlooked. Please keep an eye out for our mailbox. Our address and last name is marked on both sides of the mailbox. You will receive detailed directions before you arrive. - If arriving after dark, please be prepared with a flashlight or headlamp. The forest can be very dark. Please let us know if you will be arriving after dark and we will happily assist you if we're available. - When booking for 3 guests, we will set up a twin air mattress with linens, pillows, and towels in the tent. Please make sure to let us know if there will be three guests so we can have everything ready when you arrive. - * FIREWOOD* Please plan to bring firewood with you. You are welcome to use what we have available but you may find purchased firewood a better option. Most of the wood stacked near the camp is newly cut and not ready or too wet to burn. Thank you - We are in a wonderful rural wilderness area. The closest small town with a grocery store is 16 miles away. There is a convenience store 3.2 miles away but the hours are limited. If you need camping supplies such as food or ice, you may want to plan accordingly. - For your safety and comfort, please read the policies and rules before booking. - * Air Conditioning* Due to the weather at our higher elevation, the temperature is typically comfortable and air conditioning is not necessary. The Summer High temperature is typically in the mid-70s and may vary from the 50s to 60s in the evening and night. - *Weather* Please be prepared for a variety of weather conditions. We recommend bringing a rain jacket and options to keep warm in the evenings. To check the weather forecast in our area please search weather in Whitetop VA. - Drive Slowly and Carefully Especially at Night I recommend being extra cautious while driving. There is A LOT of wildlife in the area and they will randomly cross the roads without warning. Keep in mind deer typically travel in pairs or herds. If you see one deer cross another will soon follow. I've had bears, bobcats, turkeys, and more deer than I can count run out in front of me. Thanks to slow driving, I've been lucky that all encounters have ended safely for everyone. Please be respectful while driving in the forest. LIABILITY WAIVER.
