Come visit the farm and stay with us! We have primitive tent camping, RV sites, and a cozy little cabin. Blackwater Birds and Bees is a developing farm that started in 2016. If you're looking for privacy, you won't find a better place in Southeastern Virginia. It's over 100 acres on the Blackwater River with access to over 2 miles of waterfront without leaving the property. The river is much like a cypress swamp with large channels running through the middle and it creates a perfect environment for all kinds of spectacular wildlife. We have kayaks and canoes available for campers to use for free and a Jon boat with trolling motor available for rent. Fishing is permitted in our large pond and on the river. The farm currently features an apiary, vegetable garden, blueberry bushes, and animals including ducks, chickens, geese, and goats. The cabin features a full-size bed complete with linens/bedding as well as a sleeping loft for 2 additional guests. While the cabin does not have electricity or plumbing, it does have battery operated lights and an outhouse with flush toilet on site for the convenience of cabin guests. We have a farm shop stocked with local products, camping essentials, fishing gear, and much more! *If you are bringing a large camper or RV please pick site #3 or site #2.*Site #4 is about 75 yards into the woods away from the parking space.* Check us out on Instagram @blackwater_birds_and_bees

The Blackwater Bungalow
Best campsite in Virginia
The camp was beautiful clean and so peaceful! The owners mom created us and was so helpful for everything we needed. I caught a 5lb bass in the pond, a decent sized pike, some bluegill and a lot of crappie! We got there and there was a beautiful full moon on the first night I can't wait to come back here, it's the most beautiful place I've been to in Virginia.

Host was always quick with responding to any questions we had, and responsive to any requests we had. The site is great for privacy, and we can’t wait to get back there for another couple of days.

Beautiful location. Fairly private campsite. Access to the pond and the river. Host were very accommodating. You have to try the honey and mead. Highly recommend

We had a great experience at Blackwater birds and bees. James allowed us to fill our freshwater tank And directions to the site were easy and clear. Great communication before hand. The site was clean and had a fire pit and picnic table right on the river. It was our grandson‘s first camp out with us and he had a great time. We will definitely return. Thanks again.

This place is a gem! Beautiful property with the river, pond, thoughtful native plant landscape, great birdwatching, and more. We loved the edible landscape tour. James was a wonderful host! Can’t wait to come back.
