Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts. The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today. Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

Site 2 - C Colo - just beautiful

Beautiful place to camp. The host (steve) was so caring and wonderful. The location is absolutely majestic. Has a beautiful creek nearby for swimming. Will camp again in the future.

“Colo - Just Beautiful” is fun!

Very friendly people, easy to get to river, close to local cafe, fire pit available and toilets close by. Horses across the field. Plenty of room for small groups.

Site 2 - C Colo - just beautiful

Great weekend. The owners were friendly and helpful. Great for our puppy. Just be aware it is right next to a very busy road - quiet at night but during the day very busy. Brownies and wood chopped was fantastic and the lucky door prize. They went the extra mile with a map of walks etc. The river was clean and flowing. Definitely would return

Site 5 - C- Colo - Just Beautiful..

Great camping site not far from the city! Good access to the river - we spent a few days kayaking. An attentive host, expect multiple visits so any questions will never go unanswered.

Site 3 - C Colo - just beautiful

Plenty of space and really helpful host. Access to river for a swim or put canoe in , lovely little beaches close by via canoe to enjoy and do a bit of fishing. The traffic noise from the Putty was the only negative.

Site 1 - C Colo - just beautiful

Plenty of activities which can be carried out for example swimming at the river and hiking to one of the look out point. Loved the brownies from Steve as well. Fresh from the oven. Will definitely recommend this campsite to our friends.
