Camping in Fort Wayne!
My husband and I stayed on Marla’s land, and it was so peaceful and lovely! Directions were clearly mapped out, dry wood was made available, a port-o-potty and shower accessible, and wagons ready to tote our belongings to our campsite! The host came out to assist us with our fire (as we stayed during a particularly wet weekend) and eventually allowed us to stay in a cabin they rent nearby (we only brought a hammock but forgot our straps, and it was already dark!!). The host insisted we be comfortable during our stay and was so kind and intentional in ensuring we had the best time we could have. I did observe other campsites nearby, they were empty during our stay, but it would be such a fun place to stay with friends and family. The river is a small walk’s distance away. You aren’t super far from the host’s home, but the home wasn’t visible from our campsite. Lots of beautiful trees, and strings of lights lit at night if wanted, too. A truly lovely experience, so thankful to these sweet hosts!

Fantastic camp by the river!
Absolutely loved this campground! They've done so much work on the property to carve out a great little campsite neighborhood in the woods close to scenic St. Mary's River. On the subject of the river, I visited when it had rained a monumental amount previously so the river was very flooded but didn't even come close to affecting most of the campsites (one unused lower campsite was underwater). Each campsite is spacious and well-appointed with tables, chairs, firepits and plenty of firewood. Wide well-groomed trails throughout the camp and optional lighting make it very inviting. There's a pool house nearby with shower and bathroom facilities but Number One on my list was that down by the parking spot the port-a-potty had the NICE toilet paper. Marla was an extremely gracious host and her dog was so cute. Plenty of everything you need and I was excited to hear about all the upgrades they are planning. Can't wait to find an excuse to come back this way, had a great time!

My fiancé and I love camping here! It’s quiet, peaceful, beautiful views, and the owners are really great. We look forward to staying here many more times in the future.

Gem in the woods!!
My partner and I was in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the day visiting due to arriving early for 2024 Eclipse and hotels all booked.. went on to Hipcamp and found this "Gem" of a place!! Marla was super responsive and very helpful with all questions. The place was slightly flooded on lower land but that didn't take away from the beauty of the place. There were other places booked there on that weekend, and one was next 2 spots around us.. and honestly none of it was a bother. Marla and husband Jamie were super friendly and informative of anything local to go do... biking, bars, food and anything to do in the city. Fort Wayne downtown area is just a few miles away but it's so quiet and no light pollution from city at campground. Signs located appropriately and some of the other stuff around, as decoration was an added touch that was nice to walk around and find. Outhouse at front of camping area was very well taken care of, plus a pool outhouse beside house for indoor restroom and shower!! But we really enjoyed the great outdoors! Will visit again if in area, drove from Pittsburgh!! Also each site has fire pit and logs for seats. All the firewood that would needed for fire. There were outlets in one area if needed. An outside hand wash place with paper towels was a very nice touch when you first entered too. Honestly, everything felt very well thought out with one's needs for being out camping, not over done neither. Look forward to next time!!

Marla was a great host. She moved us from our original sight due to high flood waters. They were very accommodating and responsive to our needs. Lots of birds singing in the mornings!
