Within a 60-minute drive from the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park Visitor Center.
We have 4 pristine acres of land on the outskirts of the town of Hilo, with 3 acres of private forest, bordering on the Mauna Kea watershed, in the foothills of Mauna Loa volcano. Located in the Highlands of Waiakea Uka, at 1000-foot elevation, we are high above the humidity of Hilo. The glamping tent is situated right between the meadow and the forest. It's mostly peaceful here and it feels like being in the country. You can walk into the woods or up the road. There are no street lights, so there is a great view of the night sky. It's a great place for a Retreat, a Writer's Retreat, a Vision Quest or a Medicine Journey. We also offer Holistic and Vibrational Healing with Joy Gardner and others, and Rejuvenation through Body Work and Water in the Bamboo Bath House (see also RMAMysteryschool.com) Location: 15 minutes from the Airport, 15 minutes from Target and lots of good restaurants in Hilo, 20 minutes from Rainbow Falls, 20 minutes from Richardson Beach with great snorkeling, 20 minutes from good surfing at Honoli'i Beach Park, 40 minutes from Volcano and the Caldera.

This is a beautiful location and well thought out space. So many details thought through for a camping spot....trash, heat, rain protection, kitchen supplies, beautiful bathroom space (showering in the rain was a treat), options for sitting and being comfortable. The night symphony of frogs and insects by the edge of the woods was heavenly. Great communication. Highly recommended.

Glamping in a tranquil place
This is a great spot to camp for the evening! The property is private, near the end of a road about 15 minutes out of Hilo’s centre. Despite parking in the driveway, the fish/frog pond and gorgeous garden made this spot comfortable . It was quiet and felt very safe for my family. The bathroom and shower were fabulous!! And the bonus load of laundry and wifi made this truly a glamping experience for us. Joy was lovely—friendly and warm. We liked it so much, we stayed a second night! I would highly recommend this spot.

Park in Hilo, in Paradise
Joy is a very hospitable host and made us feel welcomed. She gave us a brief tour of the property and gave tips on trails to see the sunrise and sunset. She also offered us to help ourselves to the fruit trees in the backyard, and we thoroughly enjoyed the starfruits and oranges we picked there. The location is peaceful, and the outdoor shower is beautiful and functional with plenty of hot water.

Affordable Glamping
extremely well thought out set up. everything you need and more. although we had our own gear it was nice to glamp for a night. especially when it was raining as we were covered. awesome place.

Beautiful glamping experience! Nice big tent - we enjoyed sitting in chairs on the platform outside the tent. Nice place to walk on the property, and unique and excellent outdoor bath house. Joy was warm and welcoming.
