The perfect stay
What a wonderful place! Quiet, clean, and very beautiful! The people who run the place are so kind; they treated me and my boyfriend like family! We really enjoyed our time there and will definitely stay at Ute Lodge again in the future!
A dream vacation spot
Coming from LA, this property was a literal DREAM. It was everything I could ever ask for in a trip to Colorado. Even my friend from Craig, Colorado was super blown away. The lake, creek, trails were extremely beautiful. The horses and other animals were amazing. The campgrounds were clean and the bathhouse was an absolute plus. There was even a concert on one of the nights we stayed. Everyone was more than helpful and very friendly. I loved this stay. Thank you Mona!
We had an amazing time tent camping near the lake! The hosts were fantastic and they even let us use their grill when we forgot ours. The stars were out in force and got a special visit from the moose. 10/10 would camp here again
Mona, Carl and their kids were so welcoming! I came in later in day and they both warmly greeted me and invited me to join their potluck they were having with other more regular guests that night. There are trails that sounded so wonderful that are part of the national forest trail system right from their property. Due to going on a long hike my incoming day and needing to head out early the next day, wasn’t able to get up to the lake they said there was with baby moose and mama moose that had been frequenting it :( the bathroom had a shower I could use, too! Portable water on site. A few cabins and tent sites. Signage made it super easy to find from the scenic byway.
Mona has a beautiful place! We loved it but we got there late (after dark) and left quite early the next morning. But it was getting daylight when we left and it was very beautiful. The bubbling brook sound right next to our tent was lovely! The bathhouse was small but there weren't alot of campers there as most were in cabins that she has to rent. So had the bathhouse mostly to ourselves. I would recommend this to anyone! Lovely place!
We had a wonderful time! Mona and Carl were incredible hosts. Our kids LOVED all the animals and the play-area and old tractor were perfect for hours of entertaining. The restrooms were clean and everyone was so kind. We made many new friends and will be back again!
Great for families!
We really enjoyed our stay at Ute Lodge. It wasn't as private or separated from other campers as we thought it would be, but it ended up not being a big deal. Mona and Carl are so welcoming and friendly. The site was clean and it was nice having hiking trails nearby. Hence, no driving all weekend! We loved having a potluck among the campers the last night too as well as the shared campfire for building community. Our 5-year-old daughter probably loved it the most and is still talking about it. We'll definitely go back and likely in September when the trees turn color. The area is absolutely gorgeous.
