Great access to Spinney Mountain State Park and Eleven Mile State Park! Right off of a very quiet road with lots of open space and privacy. Amazing views in all directions and perfect for stargazing.
There are livestock in the area, including some very curious donkeys that immediately introduced themselves but didn't cause any issues.
We found two fire rings with complimentary firewood on either side of the cow path. Each fire ring is easy to find from the main road. The turnoff into the pasture is not marked, but it will be on the left side of the road just after you see the first fire ring.
This is a pasture with no shade and it can get very windy. Make sure to bring a tarp or sun shelter during the summer months. There is an RV park with a general store just over the hill if you need some backup water.
Great spot. Quiet. Easy to get to. The green posts in the directions were down. It was a bit windy and the donkeys did come up to us when we first got there, but they were not a bother. I would definitely go back.
I loved this location! It’s quiet and pretty remote... except for the occasional braying donkey... it was great. It’s pretty windy since it’s wide open, bring lots of stakes for your tent or it will blow away!
We will be using this location as long as it is available to rent. I don't want to give a review because we want it all to ourselves!! To say we loved it would be an understatement. Cannot thank the property owner enough. Side Note: We loved the cow bones art and cow skulls, if you have a hang up about that it's not for you. We thought it added to the experience and hope nobody messes with them! :)
We enjoyed the camping spot . It was surprisingly easy to find. On the arrival we we’re welcomed by antelopes roaming around. In the morning some wild mules came around looking for water. We were lucky to have a beautiful full moon.
Nothing there but empty field
This is a bare bones campsite. There is so little there, it is difficult to find. You just pull off a dirt road into an empty field with no trees. I wondered if people driving by were wondering what we were doing there! It would be excellent for stargazing if there were no clouds.
Expect nothing and you’ll enjoy it!
