This area of Colorado is what the TV show "South Park" is based off of!   Located near Eleven Mile state park as well as the famous "dream stream" for the fishermen out there...  This campsite is simply land. No trees, no structures.. this listing offers 5 acres of land and I only allow 2 bookings at a time, so you will have plenty of room...just raw, flat land with stellar 360 degree views. There are absolutely no amenities of any kind...it is just land to park/camp on. Car or truck access via a dirt road (bumpy, but easily passible by car). AT&T and Verizon work well around the site, and I think Sprint and T-Mobile work, but may be a little spotty... please feel free to leave you cell coverage experiences in the feedback after you stay to help other campers.   IF YOU NEED TO CALCULATE DISTANCES TO/FROM ANOTHER LOCATION.. the camping spot is about 9 miles south of  Hartsel, Colorado.

We had a fantastic time, the views were amazing and we were all alone. It really feels like your own little retreat. The sun sets right behind the beautiful mountains and had it not been cloudy, it would have been amazing for star gazing also. Cows roam around and we could see them in the distance which was pretty cool also. Directions were great

This place was awesome. Definitely as advertised - just a huge chunk of land to enjoy but the scenery was absolutely beautiful. We were able to watch some storms roll over the mountains in the distance and the stars were magnificent once the sun finally set. Since the land is flat and there's nothing to break it up, I'd recommend bringing some extra clothing to help combat the wind. We'll be back for sure.
Also the directions were great, but don't be like me and get so excited about the bison farm that you forget that it's actually your turn.

Wow! Ded tick is a fantastic place if you are looking to get away from everyone for a few days, yet not feel completely isolated. I tent camped but, a trailer or RV would be best suited. If I had a trailer, this would definitely be on my list to consider working remotely; cell coverage seemed to be really good (though I didn't really stress use of the phone much.)
Unexpected "pro's" include the unobstructed view of a vast mountainous (western) horizon, fantastic sunsets, stargazing, clean (no trash), good quality roads (despite being unpaved), quiet, good cell service, and no fences for as far as the eye can see.
For the most part, it is very quiet here, though you do hear and see the occasional car on the distant, route 53 or airline flyover. Despite that, you will find yourself often stopping, and savoring the absolute silence of the place.
Visually, the most "movement" you'll see in a day are the sun, the clouds, and the cows, who seem to pass through the lot once per day. There is the occasional car on route 53, but, that is pretty infrequent and, 53 is far enough away that the cars are more like distant novelties.
In summary, if you're looking for a getaway where you can "have some space, peace and quiet" away from people, without feeling like you could be stranded, this is a great spot. Likewise, if you are into sunset photography or stargazing, this is going to be fantastic as well.

Looking East. This is also roughly the distance between Ded Tick North and South. If you can, bring your telescope. In any case, plan to look UP at night. This photo shows a lot of stars even though it was cloudy AND an almost a full moon at the time.Don't miss sunsets here, they're just spectacular.Dirt roads like these are within walking distance of the property. These roads would make for fairly easy mountain biking.

So peaceful and beautiful out here. It was perfect for relaxing and experiencing all nature and Colorado is about. I was camping by myself and at night could hear a group of campers partying at the south location, that was a little annoying but I’ll take that over a crowded campground. In the morning a herd of cows came quite close by and it was such a cool experience to see them just roaming around. I got good cell service on my iPhone with Verizon. I would definitely recommend this land to camp and the host was quick answering my questions.

This is our second time staying in this area and we enjoyed it again even more the this time. It's quiet and you most likely won't see anyone else, just some cows that may wander by at some point. Because it does get windy in this area and there aren't any trees to offer protection I think this is a really great RV site.

This was an amazing place to stay if you want peace and QUIET. The quiet is emphasized because that is one of the most amazing elements of this property as there is essentially no noise (or light) pollution! You can see the Milky Way on a clear night. I highly recommend it!
