My friends and I drove to Camp Cherished for a night away from the stress of college. It was so incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating, and we had a blast exploring the property, hanging out at the campfire, and cooking dinner outside. The host, Natalie, met up with us to show us around the property and explain the purpose of the camp. She was so welcoming and hospitable, and she sent her sons to set up a table for us to use. Natalie is opening her land to campers as a way to fundraise for her non-profit organization, She’s CHERIshed, which aims to aid survivors of domestic violence. Natalie will be building a sanctuary for women that have been abused, and 100% of the proceeds of camping will go towards this project.
Staying at Camp Cherished was exactly what my friends and I needed after a long week of midterms, and we were amazed that such a beautiful place was just a short drive from Denver. Definitely bring a hammock and keep your eyes open for the deer!
Great place for a fire and plenty of seating for a small group! Quiet and peaceful. Close enough to town that there is some air traffic, but not often. Outhouse was better than digging a hole. High clearance vehicle recommended. My highlander handled the road fine. Not sure a car with low clearance would have. Beautiful views! We saw wildlife in the afternoon.
Beautiful camp for a great cause!
We had a big group with a reservation at Sand Dunes that fell through very last minute. We had all our cars packed up and found Camp Cherished on Hipcamp. Literally an hour before we arrived we booked and were contacted by the sweet host Natalie. She met us and showed us around the property. She was so sweet and accommodating. Her family and her mother in law live on the property, but you would never know! It felt very secluded but also safe. The space was the perfect size for our 10 people. It is a short drive to Devils Head, which was unfortunately closed the weekend we went, but we honestly just enjoyed exploring the property and climbing the rocks!!
While maybe on the more expensive side, IT IS WORTH IT! The land is beautiful, the money goes to a great cause and the hosts could not be sweeter! We loved the idea of being able to support such an incredible ministry just by enjoying a weekend away. Highly recommend to anyone :)
Highly recommend camp cherished!!
We had an awesome time at Camp Cherished. The site feels very secluded, despite being only 30 min from Denver. Parking was easy, a nice picnic table and fire ring were set up when we arrived. We'll be coming back soon!
My young kids had an amazing time
I took my three young kiddos (9-7-4) and we had a blast. Host was awesome. Location was perfect. The highlights were: Making S’mores at the fire ring nestled in the rocks, surprise visit by the little goats, the bouldering was AMAZING at the top, night was silent (except my snoring probably) and stars were incredible. This was a last minute spontaneous trip and exceeded our expectations. I’ll try and post some pictures but will be hard to decide which ones. Side note: AT&T seemed to have better coverage than Verizon.
Amazing and beautiful experience!
Camp Cherished is a 10/10! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
It is the perfect escape close to Denver, no more than 45 minutes away! A ton of land that is wonderful for exploring. Secluded and beautiful with amazing views!
On top of that, Natalie is an incredible host. So kind and helpful! She has a true passion for her non-profit and we loved supporting an amazing cause.
We will be back!
Fun getaway!! close to denver
Beautiful property, fun little drive into the campsites. Site #2 was the best by far with a private fire pit. If you’re planning to grill over the fire, be sure to bring your own grate as they don’t provide one. Very pretty property but the price is awfully steep for a bare bones campsite- the cause is fantastic but hard to justify $240+ for two nights of camping.
We loved it- I stayed here with my father, my son and my niece. Kids had a great time exploring all the crazy rock formations. Site 2 had a lovely view, good trees for slinging a hammock, and the bonus of a fire ring and nice picnic table. Lovely quiet camping for a good cause!
