100 acres of Forest-views, Creek Waterfalls, Private Trails, sleeps up to 18

Our spacious, 7-bedroom home (plus 2 foldout couches and 4 outdoor campsites) is on 100 wooded acres, part of a 1500 acre habitat preserve, with a sunny deck overlooking a forest of pines and oaks. Just a few steps from the front door, guests can enjoy a network of beautiful, private hiking and mountain biking trails that follow the creek, with waterfalls and shallow pools to enjoy on a hot summer day.

The 3,500 sf yuba river retreat – offers privacy and outdoor beauty for guests seeking time in nature, while only 10 minutes from historic Nevada City’s theater, local shops, and gourmet restaurants.

Access to the Yuba River at the South Yuba River state park at Purdon Crossing is a 10-minute drive by car from the retreat. With an additional 650 acres of sought-after state park hiking trails, mountain biking, and refreshing river swimming in summer, it is the perfect place to relax in the outdoors.

The Forest Homestead is the ideal get-away for groups of outdoor enthusiasts, healing retreats, and families.

Look out at the forest from your bedroom, with every bed made up with organic linens. Each bathroom features organic towels and natural products.

The master bedroom is comfortably decorated with rustic, handmade furnishing, Navajo rug, king mattress with organic sheets and private bathroom. The four other bedrooms on the main floor feature queen-sized beds, designer comforters, original artwork and unique vintage furnishings.

The downstairs studio, accessible through the kitchen and also by driving directly to the back entry, includes two sunny bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom with a claw foot tub, and an additional kitchen, with another spacious living room and wood stove. The walls are lined with sugar pine, hand milled from our land.

Relax in the front or back living room, both adjacent to the kitchen and dining area and fully furnished for evenings of reading, board games, cards and complimentary netflix movies, warmed by the wood stove in winter or cooled with fresh mountain air from the large windows, ceiling fans and all house air conditioning in the summer.

The two kitchens are fully equipped with everything a chef might need, including a double oven, microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee grinder, knife set, and pots/pans.

The Game Room off the kitchen is set-up with a ping pong table (pool table underneath) and dart board. Outdoor on-site activities include relaxing in the hammock village, hiking through the forest, picnics on the deck and a three-hole frisbee golf course.
