Yosemite Garden Camp is on 10 acres of grassy meadows, pine and oak trees, and manzanita chaparral in the lower Sierra Nevada mountains, near the town of Groveland, outside Yosemite National Park.
The property includes a large vegetable garden and a small vineyard, and borders Federal Bureau of Land Management land. Most of the property has sweeping views across the Central Valley to the Coast Ranges to the west. Sunsets are breathtaking. Yosemite National Park, with endless hiking, backpacking, climbing and swimming, is about 1 hour away by car. Even closer is the Stanislaus National Forest and the Tuolumne River. The town of Groveland has some great bars, cafes and restaurants, and a good grocery store.
There is a bathroom shack in the middle of the property with a flush toilet, a sink, and a hot shower. The water is clean and drinkable. There is also a communal fire pit and a communal picnic table.
You can pull your vehicle right up to this tent site just inside the gate of Yosemite Garden Camp. While this site does not have as much privacy as the other tent sites, you have the advantage of proximity to your car, shade from trees, and a picnic table in the shade of an old live oak.
Note that Yosemite Garden Camp is on a very rough dirt road, which gets worse every year. A higher clearance vehicle is necessary and 4-wheel drive is ideal. Sedans often bottom out on this road and are not recommended. Please drive no faster than 5 mph when going past neighbors' homes.
LATE SUMMER NOTE: During California's peak fire season, the electric utility company (PG&E) sometimes shuts off power to the area to prevent sparks from causing wildfires, especially when the weather is hot and windy. When PG&E shuts off power, the well pump will not run and there is no running water in camp. This only happens a few days a year. I will notify campers when PG&E notifies me, so that campers can bring water for drinking, hand washing and toilet flushing.

Beautiful site. Really close to Yosemite with a great view and nice amenities. Could not have asked for more, far exceeded any expectations

We were in and out really fast (10 pm to 4am) but we were lucky to catch the host right as she was heading out for dinner and chatted for so long. We had so much in common and she was so friendly in getting us situated even though it was dark.
Geoff was excellent in his communication, very prompt and clear. It definitely made planning the trip easier.
His place is a bit tough to get to, but doable even in a sedan in the summer if you take your time. It is worth it for the views!
Very nice place ! If you want to go to Yosemite be carful about the state of the road 120. Everythings were clean and I meet nice people there. I would come back if I can !
This site is very pretty, clean, and they even had some supplies such a soap and shampoo for you to use.
Site 4 is very far removed from the rest of the site. Does not have a view or access to the fire pit. It is very private but kind of feels like your camping in someone’s back yard. The other sites aren’t far from the parking area, I would definitely chose sites 1-3. The camp ground is difficult to get to and left our car and cargo hitch covered in dust. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. Bathroom was very clean and a huge perk. The communal hot tub was in use by other campers who chose to go commando which was less than inviting. The sunset was incredible.
Great spot with a lovely view on the hills, 10 minutes away from Groveland. Easy access to Yosemite and Groveland is a cute town with everything you need. Geoff was super friendly and helpful, and very quick to respond. We found the restroom very clean.

Geoff is so welcoming, and this camp is great! The campsite was big enough for multiple tents, and protected by the shade. The views from the property are gorgeous. Would definitely recommend that you stay here!
Great view, awesome property!
