WRITER'S CABIN - fueling the creative spirit since 1895.
What's in a name? The Writer's Cabin has a history of hosting authors from around the world. Since its evolution from tent platform (late 1800s) to its present form, the Writer's Cabin has been a place of peaceful pondering and creative endeavors.
A place that begs you to leave your phone in the car, invites quiet contemplation, meandering walks with wine in hand to valley overlooks, cooking meals and eating outside on the back deck while the sun rises, sets or hangs in the sky, or the simple act of grabbing a sunrise-inspired cup of coffee. Minutes later, you are sitting among the century-old olive trees in the lower meadow. If this is what you need, the Writer's Cabin is for you.
Rustic exterior with all the modern conveniences inside. Space is kept very clean and all linens are fresh and stocked before your arrival. Kitchen is ready to cook and prepare anything you bring with you or pick up on your way. From your back deck you have access to acres of private space to watch the sunrise, gaze at the stars and enjoy a glass of wine in the century-old olive grove, or read a book.

Absolutely stunning place. The cabin is modern with all the amenities that you need. The surrounding area is quiet but has tons of animals and hiking trails. Richmond was great with communication and gave us all the info we needed. Definitely worth staying for the entire weekend if not more!
Wow, what an amazing stay. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a weekend and I will have to say, I wish I booked it longer. It was hard to leave.
Experience Getting There:
After you get through the main gate at the entrance of the location its a little ways up a pretty cool dirt path to your cabin. Super easy, and you can't miss it. Plus you aren't far from the main town that has a handful of small places to eat, get your nails done, grocery shop, etc.
Experience Once Arriving:
When we first drove up, we had to admit it looked better in person. Your cabin isn't just surrounded by nature, it's apart of it. Even when you walk inside, the modern touches don't outshine the nature inspired pieces you'll see scattered around the cabin. From the built in wood entertainment unit, to the wood & metal shower, it's a nomads rustic wonderland.
Cozy, the best was super comfortable.
HAD EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER NEED! SERIOUSLY.
Tons of DVDs to watch ,wifi w/ a roku powered tv. So Netflix was definitely our go-to.
MY FAVORITE. The detail put into the bathroom is probably what made me love this place so much. It was spacious, and had everything you needed. The products were high-end and left me smelling and feeling like I just left the spa. The shower alone was an escape. And the window overlooking the back field was just topping on the cake.
Hosts: The hosts were in town during our stay and they were incredibly welcoming. We were greeted when we arrived and even got to have a drink or two with them. They were just amazing people to talk to. We left inspired and in awe of what they built. And also rediscovered a new love of gin and guac.
SO MUCH LAND, so many trails. What more could you ask for.
All in all, I had a great time. And would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice getaway, fresh air, and lots of nature.
The Writer's Cabin is quaint and cozy! Such a lovely setting, super quiet, full of the amenities you'd prefer not to bring along and in the center of a small network of hiking trails. Couldn't recommend it enough! Hope to go back again
