12 Acres in the Redwoods. Creekside. We have a private driveway with lots of secluded Space. lots of chickens usually an endless supply of eggs for breakfast. Small campfires available. Cabin renters have access to Hot showers, wood-burning stove, kitchen amenities and running water. The cabin is located Away from our living area and is overlooking the creek. Tent sites are located next to the creek or up near the community fire pit. This is our home, it is private, eclectic and filled with natural beauty. That being said, it is by no means pristine. We have the occasional junk pile like most off grid homesteaders do. We do not throw out some things that others would. We try to find a use for old and weathered equipment and materials. Our cabin is built completely with recycled and reclaimed materials. Like I said, we do not like to waste anything, so you may notice a few parts and pieces laying around.

Pristine, unspoiled loveliness!!
If peaceful, unspoiled beauty is your thing, I highly recommend Up Shit Creek...as a lifelong wiseass I simply couldn't resist the name of the place and boy, I'm glad I didn't. Thor and his lovely father Travis are working hard to make this gorgeous property even better and it shows. I myself adore seeing hardworking men surrounded by power tools and dirtbikes so this was right up my alley. Tranquil, quiet, so pristine...skinny dipping in the early morning, hot shower under the redwoods when sleeping in the cabin, roaring fire waiting when I returned from town. Chickens, peacocks, bunnies...blessedly dark and relaxing. I couldn't be happier that I chose Up Shit Creek. You should, too. I absolutely will be returning. And they're building another cabin on the creek- yay!! ☺️

Great spot! My partner and I decided to book a last minute trip and were not disappointed! We did one night of tent camping and were able to soak up the sun and enjoy the redwoods and creek. Bathroom is a porta-potty but is very well kept. Our spot was pretty secluded from other campers which was nice. Thor and his dad were very friendly and accommodating. Only downside is the communal fire pit if you are introverted like we are but other then that this place was great! Will definitely be visiting again.

Loved it!
Kinda rustic but great area and access to the river! Loved having chickens nearby and fresh eggs! We car camped and he found us a nice flat place to park. There’s plenty of space for regular camping though. Thanks Thor!

Up Shit creek, Cabin
Great little spot!
I booked this because I wanted to be in the woods near the coast, but I wasn’t sure if it would be raining or cold in early April so wanted to be in a cabin with insulation. It was great! Thor was a great host- got me settled in, showed me everything including the small wood burning stove, which because it was low to mid 50’s he had thoughtfully lit in preparation of me arriving. (In case you never used one keep the cups of water on it, keeps the air from getting dry). More on Thor and fires- he regularly lit campfires, did a lot of wood chopping which I didn’t expect. The next morning we got beautiful eggs from the chickens that wander around… and they’re quite interested in what you’re cooking at the campfire, and that’s difficult to forget when you’re cooking their delicious eggs! He welcomes dogs, but make sure your dog does not have prey drive. My herding dog wanted to sniff the rooster but when I told him to “leave it”, he just started being scared of that thing almost as tall as him that was screaming a lot, haha! The wandering chickens and rooster were a big part of what I liked. Ice property, I’d love to be able to have something remotely like that some day.

Thor and Travis are hardworking respectful hosts. They were available if needed but mostly give you privacy which I like! The creek running through their property is amazing as is the communal fire pit. Would love to visit again in the summer. So many plant varieties popping up ( spring) We enjoyed ourselves- thanks again! -Lisa and Mark
