The vibe at The Unhitched Ranch
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our trip to unhitched ranch was absolutely incredible! Our host was so amazingly accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we had the very best camping experience possible. The property is stunning, everything is immaculately clean and the views from this secret paradise are to die for. The beautiful show horses are some of the friendliest most gentle horses we have ever met; we found ourselves spending every second we could with them. We had hookups for our RV and there were beautiful lights on the property that came on in the evening. In the morning we were lucky enough to not just watch these magnificent draft horses at work, we got a chance to climb up on the cart and get the ride of a lifetime! It was so fun to be in the barn and watch the pros work. The most incredible part of this camping trip was getting to see the giant herd of wild burrows that live on the property. We saw them curiously watching our evening campfire and woke up to them right at our campsite. The unhitched ranch is truly a one of a kind paradise like no other and we can't recommend it enough!
The Ranch is a sprawling 40 acredmof Clydesdales and farm pups, and up and down and around the hill there are Longhorns, pigs , and bees! It’s an incredible operation, so we’ll manucured, the animals are happy and friendly. If you have a large rig like we did-
A 37’ Fifth wheel, we were parked right up against the Clydesdale barn.
We had full hookups and could hear and see the horses throughout the day as they were brought in and out of their stables to the corrals, got eager, and fed. And lucky us! We got to say goodnight to them as well. The kids loved the interactive with the animals, the Playground was great and Nick and Aubrey were amendable to our needs, super friendly and laid back and that made for such an enjoyable stay.
What a fantastic place! We met our host Nick and Audrey at their Horse Ranch, called "Unhitched Ranch" when we checked in. They gave us the lay of the land and told us to set up where ever we liked. We selected a little rise above some of the horse pens that had a view across the hills down to the city lights. They were super friendly and shared a lot of information about the area, their horses and their ranch. They were really easy going and could not have been more helpful. Nick offered up assistance in connecting our RV and offered a table and chairs and even an outdoor rug for our use if we wanted it. Once we were settled in they left us to do our own thing whilst they worked their Ranch. It was great fun watching them work their horses.
The area itself is quite beautiful, nestled in the hills, the Ranch seems to fit in a canyon area that has its share of wild roaming Burro's! There are plenty of hills for hiking which we did, and great areas for Mountain Biking, which we will do next time.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Unhitched Ranch, where our closest camping neighbors were horses and wild Burro's! We can't wait to go back!
This is our second time visiting The Unhitched Ranch, and it never disappoints! This is a very relaxing spot to watch horses and wild burro's. There is plenty of hiking and areas to ride off road bicycles. One of the best things about the Ranch is how close it is to Los Angeles and how easy it is to get there. Nick is a great host; he is there if you need him but leaves you alone to enjoy the property. This has become our "go to" place!
Nick and Aubrey are so nice. They have a really cool horse ranch with beautiful views but it is also convenient to town. Our kids had a blast exploring and also got to feed the horses a few treats. We had no issues getting our 65 foot rig onto the property. Highly recommended.
Clydesdales, horses & cows, wild burros, four nutty dogs and a beautiful canyon with views down to the distant lights of San Bernardino! It gave us a chance to test our camping gear while still having wifi, water/power to the campsite, and a quick drive to anything we could need. Nick was a great host, hospitable, thoughtful and full of good stories. Ideal for trailers, teardrops and RVs - and for those looking for quiet and open hills. Just remember, it's a working farm, not a spa, so you will see amazing animal life and your feet will get dusty.
