Group campsites have a picnic table, fire pit, latrine, and lots of open space. I have a few good locations to host groups, depending on your needs, so you will need to send a request to book and I can recommend the best option. There is a large space at the bottom of the property (aka campsite #4) for big or noisy groups, but it is a trek to the bath house if you want a shower or flush toilet. More low key groups might prefer the area between campsite #2 and the glamping cabin. The cabin could be a great addition to your group site extravaganza if that is desirable (see the cabin listing for details).
- Get directions at the main house or follow the signs if no one is home.
- There is a simple latrine at each site. A full bath house with a flush toilet and hot shower is available next to the main house. A water spigot is attached to the main house.
- There are miles of trails to hike or to ride dirt bikes/mountain bikes on. There is a marked walkable loop around the property that will take about 1 hr 30 min.
- Spare camping supplies are available by the bath house if you forget something! Ask ahead if you need to borrow a specific item.
More about the property:
I built my home high upon a southern ridge. Watching the river of coastal fog flow in and out below me is one of the most wonderful views to behold! I have 30 acres of land to explore and camp upon in the surrounding redwood forest.
There is a main house which I live in and I tend to share with travelers. 10 miles east are Montgomery Woods redwood preserve with GIANT trees, and a little farther, perhaps a mile is the famous Orr Hot Springs Resort. If you drive a half hour west from my land you will be in the coastal Mendocino village.

We had a wonderful time at Cosmo's camp. The location is definitely secluded and offers all the privacy you need for a nice get away. We opted for site 5, which was very secluded, had a super convenient pit toilet and was super close to a blackberry patch! The drive from Mendocino to Ukiah (Cosmo's place is about 1/3 of the way along the route) is absolutely stunning and takes you through so many different ecosystems. The Montgomery Woods State Preserve is just a few minutes away and offers amazing hikes through old growth redwoods. Highly recommend this spot!
Cosmo's land is beautiful and unique. There was mist nestled in the trees off to the distance, and we camped in the center of a large fairy circle of redwoods. Truly magical.
And Cosmo was so fun and welcoming! We will definitely be back!
Oh, and the Tuna is amazing. Look forward to more of that too.
