Deja and her family were wonderful! Super funny, down to earth, friendly and helpful. My boyfriend, puppy and I felt very comfortable. The grounds are boho chic, relaxing, easy to maneuver through at night, the outdoor shower was amazing and my tent was perfect. The kitchen has just about everything you need, even ice! Great place to take pictures; we had pretty good cell service.
Totally worth the trip, make sure to follow her directions to the site, a lot of the roads nearby are definitely off roading status.
There are other campsites/campers, dogs walking around and an open air toilet (it does lock) just a note for those who don't want a community/commune type of experience.
A restorative and relaxing stay
We had an amazing time staying in this site, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Deja has created an incredible environment for guests. We had privacy at our campsite, but could easily opt to spend time in the common area in and around the outdoor kitchen with other campers (at a safe distance). The farm is beautiful. The outdoor kitchen is extremely well equipped and includes a refrigerator, oven, grill, and large sink. All you need to bring is your food. And the campsite itself was spotless, clean, and beautiful. We will definitely come back, and next time we are bringing ingredients to make pizza in the outdoor oven. We would highly recommend this hipcamp site to anyone.
My group had an awesome time here - Deja had everything taken care, all that was left for us was to show up and enjoy. Everyone at the property was extremely nice and helpful. Kitchen was huge and pizza oven was a fun addition. Bring a bunch of food and enjoy the getaway!
Loved my stay!
Had a great stay! Was super private. Went for an anniversary weekend get away, Deja upgraded us to a yurt with a fireplace and insulation. Super grateful for the fireplace since it was raining for our trip - we stayed nice and warm and got to listen to the raindrops on the top of the canvas yurt. Loved it. Was about a 15 minute drive from some great hiking trails and the site itself was beautiful. Loved the full outdoor kitchen! We will definitely be back with friends in the summer.
The Solis Family Farm is truly a dreamland! Please stay here if you can. You won't regret it. I have to write this long of a review because I just can't shut up about how great of a time I had.
We came here to escape quarantine for a bit and celebrate a birthday, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Deja and her family are some of the coolest, kindest, most accommodating people I have ever met. They were constantly around to help or provide what you may need, and they were just so fun to talk to and hangout with. Deja has awesome music taste, and an even better singing voice, her husband is a pizza master and even made a special vegetarian one for me which was so sweet. Her kids and friends are so helpful and sweet. What an awesome family and an awesome property.
The outdoor kitchen is to die for, and has pretty much everything you'd need. Just buy a bunch of groceries on your way in (we did in Grass Valley) and cook away!
The tents are huge. Super cute and super clean, there are extra blankets and heaters although we did not need them even on a slightly rainy weekend. The only thing I'll mention is that the Rise & Shine tent has a bit of an uncomfortable bed, it seems to be on a bit of a slant so you kind of feel like you're going to fall but it's also really not that bad and way better than a sleeping bag on the floor.
The whole property is filled with beauty: plants of all sorts, gorgeous redwoods, creeks, ducks, chickens, pigs, cats, and best of all....puppies. The cutest puppies ever. And you can play with them. All the time. Best part of my trip that's for sure. Oh and the fire pit. Talk about the coolest fire pit ever. Also such a great part of the trip, being able to socialize around it (at a safe distance) with others for the first time in so long. We met some great people and it was so nice to forget the outside world for a bit.
The outdoor shower was amazing. Huge, clean, super warm and even better water pressure than I have here in Berkeley lol. I saw Johnny (Deja's awesome friend who helps around the property) consistently changing towels in there and supplies so they are following sanitizing rules and truly making your camping experience feel luxe. And there's a freaking wood-burning sauna! We unfortunately didn't get to try it but it looked fabulous.
The swimming holes (ask Deja about fairy falls) in the area are so amazing! Really cold but really beautiful. The lake is also gorgeous and much warmer than the river, but I highly recommend exploring the Yuba river regardless of swimming.
Overall we just had such a great time. Don't miss out on this place! Thank you thank you thank you to Deja and her family and friends. We cannot wait to come back!!!
Amazing and beautiful property with a very generous and kind host. They really do have everything you need to have a perfect time away. We got to visit the nearby lake and Yuba river which are so close to this campsite! Would definitely come again.
Our family camping experience
Host was friendly and kind, the tent was as clean as you can expect, we had running water and electricity, the restroom is a compost toilet and they have like 5 dogs. The shared kitchen and fireplace is nice and a plus.
What we did not appreciate and this is the reason for the not perfect rating is the fact that our tent has a hole which we were lucky to saw and patched with a tape the fist evening, however after the 2nd night (rained) when we mentioned the hole in the tent to Deja, she seemed to knew about the hole and did not mentioned anything which was very strange. Something else we did not liked is the fact that they smoked weed even infront of our kids.
