A comfortable single room with shared facilities on a working Back-to-the-Land Homestead in the remote Northern California mountains. Relax indoors or out, sit by the pond, hike down to the river or join us in the garden. Fresh eggs and vegetables available in season as well as the opportunity for hands on learning experience gardening, solar cooking, doing food preservation from canning to fermentation, discussions on raising poultry and small livestock and off-grid power systems and many other aspects of sustainable living practices. Random loaves of bread and baked treats just show up now & then...

Private locked room with twin-xl bed, a shared bathroom with shower and a common room with full kitchen.

Within an hour of USFS hiking trails and the Yolla Bolly Wilderness, Grizzly Creek Redwoods, Mad River and Ruth Lake for boating and fishing, and the Humboldt coast is within 1-1/2 hours. Great outdoor area on site with fire ring, gas grill, horseshoes and hammocks. The Van Duzen river below the farm has numerous sweet swimming holes. Rural store and gas station only 5 minutes away.
