David and Elise run a fantastic site. This was glamping to the hilt. I'm usually a car camper who brings all my own water, wood, grill, etc. They had pretty much everything for someone who wants to pack light. The running water, grill, and portapotty were great features. The lovely bedding provided and furniture were very nice. This was a fantastic experience.
The site is well situated for wine tasting around Sonoma, day tripping out to Sonoma Coast State Park, Armstrong State Park. You can always run into town if you forgot something. The road to the site is kind of steep but folks were driving Minis and VW Golfs and it was fine. The only bummer was not being able to have a fire in the immediate surroundings, but you can walk to an area where you can have one.
If you are looking for a site for a first time camper, this is *great*. Only other tip is to bring an extra table for food prep near the grill, a tub for washing dishes or your hair, and a few extra lanterns or flashlights.
We loved our weekend at Shetlerwood! The hosts were great and very helpful/communicative. The design and details of the camp were super beautiful - everything we needed for a weekend getaway. We will definitely return!
Beautiful location and the tents were plenty spaced apart to feel secluded. The fire pit was a highlight and the accommodations were very comfortable. Would love to come back and bring friends!
What a great glamping spot! There were three tents at this site with just enough room to ha e privacy but close enough for folks to gather around for breakfast or dinner. The tents were spacious and so nice. This place is an Instagramer’s dream. Nice white bedding and an extra blanket were provided along with a branch chair in the room. There was a dinnette set and Adirondack chair on the porch. We brought camp chairs and a table but didn’t need, there are plenty of chairs and two full picnic tables by a large propane stove. We brought a hammock. Great hiking around madrone and redwood trees. Plenty of room for a pup. Also recommend bringing coffee and something to make it in over a stove but there is no electricity or cell reception. We had an awesome camp breakfast using our pans and utiensils but the stove was great and the propane was ready to go. 10/10 experience and David and Elise were fantastic. Shelterwood is heaven.
