Andrea was a great host. She has an an awesome property, with a beautiful meadow you can hike down to and a very old oak tree worth visiting. The yurt was very private and had an awesome view. It came with a fire pit, a lounge chair, a small metal picnic table, and a bathtub! Little things (like lights in the yurt and logs to use by the fire pit) show she really puts in the effort to make it a great experience. Note: it was not as warm as I expected at nighttime.
The short section of road to the yurt is a dirt road which you'd need AWD for when wet, but with some careful driving we managed with a regular sedan.
Private, picturesque getaway
The yurt was brand new, in great shape, modestly furnished, cutely decorated, it's deeep in the woods, we didn't have 4x4 so our hosts help load our stuff in w/ their truck. They were super sweet. It was private, except for a few other campers passing by. It was cold when we camped. Our hosts generously lent is a camp stove as I thought one was there due to pix on site.. The view IS spectacular. It's still being finished when we're there so there was some construction materials about, but no biggie.. Some lovely trees & sweet stream & spring water on land. Magickal time here.. Thank you!
Peaceful and safe magical spot
Felt very safe staying in the yurt by myself, was private enough without being too isolated. Had a wonderful soak in the bathtub! Yurt was really cozy and nicely decorated. I heard the stream running nearby as I went to bed. Camp fire building seemed to be welcome since the host provided firewood and kindling, although the listing had stated no fires. I was misled by the Hipcamp photos thinking there’d be a campstove provided at the yurt, which there was not (only a grate on the fire pit) but luckily I had enough cold-prep food with me to eat instead and some nice campers from a tent site let me use the one they’d borrowed from the host to heat water for coffee in the morning. The host was super helpful & responsive beforehand with informing me on nearby swimming spots, assuring me I’d be safe by myself and offering to help me get up the driveway from the main road since I didn’t have 4x4. I ended up choosing to drive it solo and it was a slow & bumpy ride in my Kia Soul but thanks to dry conditions it was manageable and no flat tires! Beautiful and very serene & magical spot. Lucky to have stayed here and hope to go again!
Rare find, amazing views
This is a rare find, where you can feel completely isolated but also drive right up to the camp site. Gorgeous views. Would definitely recommend. Only thing worth noting is that because of the elevation is was a bit colder than we'd expected, so dress warm if you're going in fall / winter.
