Come and enjoy nature in the Sierra foothills while listening to the birds sing. You might get to see a quail family or a flock of wild turkeys come through. Drive right up to your tent site (approx. 12'x12') which is about 200' from communal cooking area, and 50' from the outhouse. Enjoy cooking in our communal outdoor kitchen equipped with a sink, counter tops, propane stove, and earth oven. Bring your dutch ovens and cook on our special fire brick table. Sit around the fire pit and tell stories or roast marshmallows with friends. Enjoy the enclosed outdoor hot shower before retiring for the night or to start your day. Our donkeys love treats such as banana peals, apple cores, etc. and will thank you with a hardy HeeHaw. Just 31 miles from Yosemite Valley and only 9 miles from historic Mariposa. Fresh eggs and garden produce for sale when available, just ask.
At Sanctuary of the Oaks we currently have 11 campsites. Sites #2 through #7, and #10 are tent sites. Sites #1 and #8 are group sites that can accommodate two or three tents. Site # 9 is a 12 ft x 14 ft wall tent set up on a wooden floor platform. And the RV1 site can accommodate up to a 25 ft RV, no hook ups. It is possible to park your vehicle in front of, or next to all of the sites. However most of the parking spots are small and not level. So if you are planning to sleep in your vehicle, we would recommend that you book either the RV1 site, or book one of the other sites and park in the ‘extra parking’ area next to the ‘round house.’

Absolutely phenomenal place to stay. Can not say enough good things. Jim & Becky provided free firewood and met us out on the property to help us settle in. Outhouse was adorable and sanitary, showers even had HOT water. About an hour drive to the visitor center for Yosemite. Also, the donkeys are nice and you can feed them apples or banana peels. Great stay.
The place was super cute and the communal kitchen was a huge bonus to the place! The showers were very basic - almost a shed with a shower head lol but gets the job done. The sites are all pretty close to each other too so except to make friends!
We stayed at Sanctuary of the Oaks, traveling to and from Yosemite Park which is about an hour drive away. The communal outdoor kitchen area was great to use, be sure to bring your own utensils and pots. Hot showers are available, although hot water is not unlimited, plenty of time to get a nice shower if you are conscientious of your time and water consumption. Well maintained composting toilets available. Some tent sites are fairly close together, which was not an issue for us, but something to consider if you are looking for total privacy. Beautiful star gazing. Overall, the campsite had a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend.
We were very happy with the camp:) the kitchen area was big and nice to use, equipped with a gas stove, kettle for coffee etc. The sink had washing liquid which was great because we had forgotten our own. This place was the first stop for our road trip, it’s very peaceful and we really liked it.
Great place to camp. Hot water showers, an outdoor kitchen even! The only disadvantage is the presence of a lot of wasps. The hosts personally greeted us the day we arrived and were very kind and interested in our plans for the trip. We had a wonderful stay!
My sister and I had a lovely time at camp site #5 ~
The camp area is so nicely set up with plenty of space for your camp spot + you can park right by where you stay. The outhouse is clean and well maintained. We loved the kitchen area with a sink + multiple stove options and fire pit. This hipcamp has a ton to offer for the price of a night - very very happy to have stayed here! Only about an hour 1/2 from Yosemite - depending on where you are going into the park.
