Come and enjoy nature in the Sierra foothills while listening to the birds sing. You might get to see a quail family or a flock of wild turkeys come through. Drive right up to your tent site (approx. 14'x15') which is about 200' from communal cooking area, and 40' from the outhouse. Enjoy cooking in our communal outdoor kitchen equipped with a sink, counter tops, propane stove, and earth oven. Bring your dutch ovens and cook on our special fire brick table. Sit around the fire pit and tell stories or roast marshmallows with friends. Enjoy the enclosed outdoor hot shower before retiring for the night or to start your day. Our donkeys love treats such as banana peals, apple cores, etc. and will thank you with a hardy HeeHaw. Just 31 miles from Yosemite Valley and only 9 miles from historic Mariposa. Fresh eggs and garden produce for sale when available, just ask.

At Sanctuary of the Oaks we currently have 11 campsites. Sites #2 through #7, and #10 are tent sites. Sites #1 and #8 are group sites that can accommodate two or three tents. Site # 9 is a 12 ft x 14 ft wall tent set up on a wooden floor platform. And the RV1 site can accommodate up to a 20 ft RV, no  hook ups. It is possible to park your vehicle in front of, or next to all of the sites. However most of the parking spots are small and not level. So if you are planning to sleep in your vehicle, we would recommend that you book either the RV1 site, or book one of the other sites and park in the ‘extra parking’ area next to the ‘round house.’

Our first experience with Hipcamp and it was wonderful. The place was beautiful and quiet. We met Jim and he was very nice and helpful. The community kitchen was a bonus. The donkeys loved our apples and carrots. We plan to stay here again if we are back near Yosemite. Highly recommended!

We only stayed here for a short time on our way to Yosemite, but had a great time. The outdoor kitchen with running water was particularly great! Would definitely come back.

Nice, outdoor kitchen and well kept outhouse available to all campers. Campground had far more sites then I realized and were very close together. Was hoping/planning for a more private setting then it ended up being. Host was very nice and did all they could to help make our stay comfortable.

Sanctuary of the Oaks is a great place to stay if you’re visiting Yosemite! It’s got great amenities and is close-ish to the park.

Awesome experience overall. The site was a relatively short drive from Yosemite NP, included several welcome amenities, and offered its own charming atmosphere. Our group of five stayed for three nights and drove about 75 minutes into the park each day. It was nice to come back to hot showers, a spacious outdoor kitchen, and a some outlets for charging phones. The donkeys and the other guests were great company around camp, which was good because many of the tent sites are in very close proximity. Jim and Becky were quick to answer our questions during the booking process, gave excellent written directions, and were responsive to guest needs while in camp. (The stove’s propane tank was promptly replaced after it ran out.) We’d DEFINITELY stay here again.

I am sorry you didn't have a good experience at our camp. You should of let us know about the shower, like others have done, and we would of come down and swapped out the propane tank, there is no gauge on it so it's hard for us to know when its empty. Becky
