This is a single tent campsite.
Come and enjoy nature in the Sierra foothills while listening to the birds sing. You might get to see a quail family or a flock of wild turkeys come through. Drive right up to your tent site (approx. 12'x12') which is about 200' from communal cooking area and 50' from the outhouse. Enjoy cooking in our communal outdoor kitchen equipped with a sink, counter tops, propane stove, and earth oven. Bring your dutch ovens and cook on our special fire brick table. Sit around the fire pit and tell stories or roast marshmallows with friends. Enjoy the enclosed outdoor hot shower before retiring for the night or to start your day. Our donkeys love treats such as banana peals, apple cores, etc. and will thank you with a hardy HeeHaw. Just 31 miles from Yosemite Valley and only 9 miles from historic Mariposa. Fresh eggs and garden produce for sale when available, just ask.
At Sanctuary of the Oaks we currently have 11 campsites. Sites #2 through #7, and #10 are tent sites. Sites #1 and #8 are group sites that can accommodate two or three tents. Site # 9 is a 12 ft x 14 ft wall tent set up on a wooden floor platform. And the RV1 site can accommodate up to a 20 ft RV, no hook ups. It is possible to park your vehicle in front of, or next to all of the sites. However most of the parking spots are small and not level. So if you are planning to sleep in your vehicle, we would recommend that you book either the RV1 site, or book one of the other sites and park in the ‘extra parking’ area next to the ‘round house.’

Really enjoyed my mellow 2-night stay at this scenic farmstead after a week in Yosemite. Slept very well next to a grassy meadow, my hosts were super friendly and welcoming. The charming town of Mariposa is close and nice for an afternoon stroll. The property is shared with a few other full time residents so it may not be the most "private" experience, but I felt completely relaxed and comfortable, both in communal spaces and in my little corner of the camp.
Great stay at the Sanctuary of the Oaks. Jim and Becky were great at communication and their set up has everything you need. From pot holders and firewood to soap and extra toilet paper, their camp is well equipped. Sites are close together, but we didn't mind. Hope to be back!
Sanctuary of Oaks is a beautifully rustic campsite surrounded by trees and fields. Stars could be seen from horizon to horizon and it's so quiet you can hear crickets chirping off in the distance.
