What it’s like to be an owl
A lovely place. Perched among two massive Douglas Fir trees, it feels as if your an owl hid inside a tree. The room is made of wood slabs, artfully pieced together to give the sense of being part of the tree. The recent rains made for a swollen brook tumbling down the sides of the broad valley—lovely music to the ear. John and Lesley are happy hosts. Much to recommend this place as a place to unplug.

Eagles Nest Tree House was a beautiful structure. It was cozy, intimate, in a lovely setting. Comfy bed. Good heater Beautiful shower, although minimal hot water. Some electricity, small battery plus generator. Outdoor fire pit and grill.

Awesome private spot in the trees
I'm not gonna say it was the ideal weekend - it rained pretty much non-stop the entire time and by bedtime the first night, it was clear that both of us were getting the sore throat, stuffy head plague that's going around. But, I can't think of a better place to spend a weekend in bed, 30 feet up surrounded by huge trees, in a super soft bed with a thick layer of covers while listening to the rain on the roof.
We did manage to get in a 2.5 mile hike that first morning - down to the creek, gave ourselves a tour of the (empty) campsites surrounding the meadow, hiked along the creek then back up the hill to long hot showers in the copper lined shower with floor to ceiling glass overlooking the forest below. Then straight back to bed, books, games.
We had a nice dinner in Bodega Bay Friday night before we realized that we were going to be too sick to do much for the rest of the weekend. It's a short drive to BB and there seem to be many nice restaurants, but just staying at the treehouse was very nice. I think we'll bring food to cook next time and never leave this little paradise. Or maybe we'll get a camper van and stay in one of the campsites.

Our stay in the tree house was magical! The craftsmanship of the house itself is absolutely incredible and a true work of art. The farm and forest are very seclude, making it a perfect getaway. Coordinating logistics with the hosts was a breeze. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Thank you for curating such a lovely experience!
