This lovely, restful glamp-site is handcrafted for rest and rejuvenation. Our 300sq foot Sibley tent, pitched on top of a brand new redwood platform, is a perfect getaway for couples or sacred solo respite. Enjoy the scenery, electricity, and a luxe outfitted queen-sized bed while getting your sleep-outside fix.
NOTE 1: THIS IS A TENT MADE OF CANVAS AND THEREFORE HAS NO INSULATED WALLS. THERE IS AN ARTIST COMMUNITY THAT LIVE IN YURTS JUST OVER THE BACKYARD FENCE. MUSIC AND CONVERSATION CAN BE HEARD AT TIMES.
WE ASK THAT OUR GUESTS BE EXTREMELY RESPECTFUL OF OUR NEIGHBORS AND NOISE.
NOTE 2: We are no longer allowing open fires for the season due to the high risk of fires. We apologize for the inconvenience.
NOTE 3: No DRONES.
Wi-Fi is available, but we're big fans of disconnecting if you're game to not ask for the password ;). You'll have access to the washroom at the main house and food storage.
When you're not chilling in this sanctuary space or roaming our half-acre of fruit trees, wild roses, redwoods and oaks at will, it's 15 minutes to swimming in the ocean, 15 minutes to hiking in the redwoods. We have a list of recommendations and adventures in the works - more to come soon!

The vibe at Tree Canopy Shangri-la
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Watsonville is a small town close by to Santa Cruz. It is a small farming town with a laid-back feel that is the antithesis of the tech-ladden cities of the Bay Area.
Coming in from the South Bay Area, we were treated to a scenic drive through the windy forest roads of Route 17 and the coastal views of Route 1. The scenery that we soaked in was just an appetizer for what this Hipcamp spot had in store for us.
When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Jacob, a SoCal native who makes you feel so welcomed on his property. Right off the bat, we knew Jacob was all about hospitality and wanted to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible during our stay. Jacob toured us through his property and gave us the intricate history of the estate and how it became the place it is today, a lush green escape from the bustle of the tech world.
As we walked through the backyard, we could see the white tent stand out prominently in the backdrop of green trees and bushes. The tent sat on a sturdy deck and housed all of the amenities that you would find at a higher end glamping site. Besides a comfy queen bed, the tent had a Nespresso machine, hot water boiler, plates, cups, utensils and some cooking tools (you should probably bring your own stove and pans). There is also a cooler for you to store your perishables. The campsite also allows for campfires in the firepit which is a great way to enjoy an intimate evening with friends. Jacob also provides a space heater for those cooler nights in the winter.
In short, we loved our stay here. Jacob was a wonderful host and we loved this enthusiasm. Although we came during the winter months, I think the site would be even more beautiful in the spring and fall (especially when you can experience the harvest festival of the farm town as well as all the rose bushes on the site!), and we would love to come back and stay here again.
My girlfriend + I had a wonderful time in Katie + Jacob's tent! It's really nicely appointed and had a great mix of the stars + outdoors vibes while also having a comfy bed + use of their shower. Would definitely recommend!
We had a great time staying here. We left during a stormy few days and they let us know of the conditions well in advance so we could make alternate plans if we didn’twant to deal with some seriously windy weather. We decided to go forward and the canopy held up through the rain like a champ. Super warm, nice and cozy, it was great. They had dishes and a kettle to boil water, so we didn’t need any of the utensils we brought. Outside there was a small fire pit where we could cook our dinner, and they had seats that we could sit at near the fire to stay warm.
In the morning we were greeted by the songs of many chirping birds, and a bright and sunny day. It was a great way to end the trip.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this place, rain or shine :)
Wow - this tent is unreal! A perfect glamping experience. Jacob and Katie have a gorgeous property and went above and beyond with beautiful, thoughtful touches, making the tent feel like a luxurious retreat. Thanks for my most-liked Instagram image of all time, guys!
Beautiful little spot to stay the night! We were a little worried we would be cold (we’re from LA and forget there’s “real” weather other places), but it was super cozy and warm inside, and the rain was such a beautiful sound all night long while we stayed super dry! Loved this place.
Lovely location! Really comfortable to stay here (heated blanket was amazing) and all the facilities were clean. Beautiful place to get away for the weekend while still having a clean bathroom to use. We roasted some s'mores in the fire pit and slept comfortably. Thank you!
Very cozy and relaxing to come back to after a day of hiking or biking. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was beautiful and clean. We played games with the cards they provided and drank coffee on the deck in the sunshine!
