Situated on the Eel river by the North Entrance of the Avenue of the Giants, We are surrounded by Redwood and forests. It can be misty in the morning and sometimes warm in the daytime. Our Road "Stafford Road" was made famous due to the protests and treesits that occurred in the Area~ "The Stafford Giant" also known as Luna, is a famous tree that housed Julia Butterfly Hill in the late 90s for over 2 years. If you look just right, you can see Luna in the Distance. Many thank Yous to Julia for protecting this ancient Redwood!

    River Witch Camp
    Avalon on the River!
    We stayed at River Witch around the fall solstice. A wonderful private accommodations as advertized. We were delighted to find caring attentive hosts who told us about the local sights. Taught us about herbs and witchcraft. We opted for a massage which did wonders. The weather was so pleasant that we didn't even make it down to the river that was just a short walk from the campsite. What a beautiful spot surrounded by a forested valley.
