The vibe at Starry Night
Places to see near River Ridge Ranch
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Open skies with birds and stars!
Starry Night campsite was located in a meadow that had so many beautiful birds singing. It was surrounded by grassy plains full of tiny flowers. At night the milky way loomed above. It was very peaceful and had all that is needed for simple camping including a outdoor cooking area where you could set up you camp stove, running water and a outdoor shower. The outhouses were kept immaculate as were the camping ground. It would be a lovely place for large group camping!
The best that earth has to offer.
To call Starry Night a campground is a severe understatement. Starry Night is more than just a campground. This place must be the most unbelievable plot of land I've ever step foot on (and I've been to many, many incredible places). I cannot put to words how grateful I am for Gary and Emma, they were extremely kind and accommodating. When I told Gary how much I loved his property, he responded with "This isn't my property, this is the Earth's property". That spirit of openness was truly present at all times during our stay. Both my girlfriend and I felt so at home the entire time. If you are reading this, I ask you to please visit River Ridge Ranch. The stunning landscape and starry skies will inspire you, and hopefully provide you with a deep sense of connection to this beautiful rock we call our home, Earth.
Best group campsite - ever!
This was a very well maintained campsite. Instructions were easy to follow, the binder with info about the camp and directions to short hikes, plus EZ ups for shade, a small table, chairs, bench, food locker, fire pit, grill, and kitchen area was all icing on the cake! I have camped at a lot of places and by far this was the best Group Site that I have stayed at.
Private prairie under the milky way
My family of 4 and our dog completely loved our time spent at River Ridge Ranch in the Starry Night Camp. Yes, it is mid-June with summer heat, but the beautiful river just a walk away and the scenic drive to see the Sequoias nearby cooled us off just fine. Breathtaking and secluded, we felt like we had our own prairie for the 3 days we stayed. The night sky was absolutely everything we needed right now. Just WOW.
Gary stopped by to see if we needed anything and we felt very safe on his enormous, private property. There is a quaint town about 15 min away for refills on ice, firewood and the essentials. If you need to get away from all the stress and worry going on and reconnect with nature and loved ones, we highly recommend Starry Night Camp. We would love to return in the Fall!
Words can’t even begin to describe this gorgeous piece of land! The campsite was very secluded as well as secure. Our host Gary was very gracious! There was every amenity that we needed. Private Port a Potty, canopy, chairs, little tables, dish washing buckets (1wash 1 dry) bbq, fire pit. The night sky was beautiful. There were hiking trails on the land so we didn’t even have to leave to find a place to hike. I would definitely, 100% recommend this site for a family camping trip!
Our family had sick am amazing time staying at starry night. This place is beautiful, secluded and peaceful. Gaty is the definition of a mench he provided a guide the bathroom were kept clean a shower with privacy was provided as well and the wildlife around us was really great! We saw deers, lots of wild goose bird of prey etc.
We would love to spend another stay there in the footie and recommend it to everyone looking for a beautiful place to spend some time in nature. Than you Gary!
Starry night lives up to its name
Starry Night campsite is everything we were looking for for a getaway from San Diego. We came in the dead of July so it was HOT to say the least, but we planned accordingly and planned day trips to the Sequoia Forest and had a great time exploring nature. The amenities and everything were perfect and the site was so secluded and the show at night with the stars was unbelievable. We are already planning our next trip to Gary’s amazing property.
Gary stopped by to make sure everything was up to par which we thought was very sweet of him. The bathrooms were kept in great shape and the shower hut was so cute and cool!
Just one side note I like to mention: There are many bugs/pests (crickets, ants, beetles, dragonflies and more!) so make sure you are with a group who doesn’t mind that stuff. I brought my adventure cat and he got bit by American Dog Ticks so if you are bringing animals to the site, I just think it should be noted!
